Fighting successfully? KO'ing a shot Leonard, a bunch of journeymen and nearly dropping a decison to a shot Roberto Duran is fighting successfully?:lol:

I guess Thomas Hearns was compaigning successfully at crusierwieght because he's 10-1 since 94.

Enlighten me then. What top pound for pound fighter has Oscar beaten in his career? Vargas? He wasn't a top fighter at the time though a threat. Whitaker? He was washed up. Chavez? He was washed up. Quartey? Not an elite fighter.

He did however lose to Trinidad, Mosley, Mayweather, Hopkins and Pacquiao, all the stiffest tests on his resume, and all recognized top 10 p4p fighters. If legacy was judged on who you fought irrespective of whether you won or lost, De La Hoya would have this hands down.

So again, enlighten me. Its too often those who call others idiots and say they know nothing about boxing don't know **** themselves.

He's a clear Golden boy stan.

Morons like Lukeo who dont follow boxing will say DLH has the better resume. However resume is based on who you beat not who you lose to, and given the fact that DLH best wins are Vargas and Quartey, there's much to be desired.

    His resume is better.

Who the **** are you going to compare Mayweather with? Corrales and Castillo?
Genaro hernandez? Who oscar beat while he was younger?!?!!?
Gatti?? Who oscar beat while he was closer to his prime?

This is a no-contest for DLH until PBF racks up some elite wins at WW.

Golden Boy Stan - good argument. If I was I wouldn't have said that Floyd will pass DLH before he retires. Name the big P4P fighters that Mayweather has beat so far.

This thread is comparing wins from DLH and May to see who currently has a better legacy. I posted impressive wins for both. DLH fought some past it fighters, and so did Floyd. Below lists wins only.

DLH: Chavez, Quartey, Vargas, Gatti, Leija, Hernandez, Camacho, Whitaker, Molina, Paez, Carr, Mayorga

MAY: Hernandez, Corrales, Marquez, Hoya, Judah, Hatton, Gatti, Castillo, Manfredy, Baldomir

When comparing the two, how can you say DLH hasn't cemented a better legacy to date? Like I said, Floyd's not retired so wins over some big names (Pac/Mos) will help push him in front of DLH, but for now he's slightly trailing.

Corrales and Castillo are far better wins then Vargas and Quartey. Neither of which ever became the leader in their division. Both cAstillo and Corrales were the best lightweights of their decade.
What weightclass did Oscar beat Hernandez at. What was Hernandez best weight class?
YOu think prime had anything to do with the ass whipping he gave Gatti. Do you think that Gatti of Ivan Robinson days would have been a stiffer test?

So? And Mayweathers career at 130, 135, and 154 are all better then Oscars. Oscar has welterweight, but after Mayweather schools Mosley, he wont even have that anymore, I'd take a slightly faded Mosley over Vargas and Quatey any day.

Seriously chill out before you get embarrassed again drop out.

    You are a fan boy.
Your hometown hero garners your attention and praise every time his name is brought up.

Your credibility on these arguments is in the gutter. I can't even read your **** without cringing.

Leave Camacho out of it then, Oscar beat both of those same fighters 3-4 years before Floyd. Floyd fought them both right before they retired. Hernandez quit in his fight with mayweather and said he was going to retire before the "blood clot" was even discovered. When Delahoya fought those same fighters, it was far earlier than Floyd when they were still closer to their primes.
