Roy Jones he beat hopkins :D

If you look at the P4P rankings you will see roy jones # 1 for couple of years. That says a lot about this guy. 1995-1996-1998-1999-2002-2003 P4P # 1, hopkins was # 1 once in 2004.

As you mentioned roy jones went up couple of weight class and won titles while B.Hop stayed in middleweight most of his career. Until B-hop beat trinidad and delahoya he wasnt getting much props.

I give roy jones the better legacy. A lot of people were saying jones didnt fight the top guys later on in his career. that's not true as i remember he fought champions as he moved up in weight class. It' just he is so talented that he made his opponent looks weak. :good:good:good

It's Roy Jones Jr. that has the better legacy.

I agree with what everybody said as they all made great points. I agree with what JC said the most though. I would also like to add that fans will look back 20 years from now and appreciate the talent, ability and athleticisim that Roy had (B-Hop had loads of talent too).

Down the line, there will most likely never be another Roy Jones Jr.

I would say Jones just. I think winning the HW title is the difference.

Jones for me, In his prime he was just something special and winning titles from middleweight to heavyweight wasn't to shabby either.

I've always thought that for all his talent and ability in his prime roy jones should have gone on to achieve more. I'm not digging him, to become the middleweight champion and the heavyweight champion is amazing, but he looked so good in his prime that he should have had a resume like the greats.

Hopkins for me was a better fighter than jones in his prime, styles make fights and hopkins style would have been too clever for jones. hopkins has done amazing things in his career, to rule the middleweight division for a decade is a great achievement and this is what his legacy is built around. Something that hopkins has which jones lacks is a resume, to destroy an unbeaten felix trinidad, KO delahoya, decision winky and tarver, anialate kelly pavlik is something special. To add to that he has never been convincingly beaten, he has a case for claming victories over taylor x2 and calzaghe.

because of the resume i think hopkins legacy just edges out roy jones'.
