Better Legacy; Rahman or Ruiz?

Ruiz beat the likes of a shot Tucker, Rahman, Golota or Johnson

Rahman, other than upsetting Lewis, lost every time he stepped up

 

Ruiz easily, Rahman was ****.

 

Ruiz. Lennox dropped a belt to not fight him.

 

Ruiz beat Rahman clearly.

Ruiz best wins are: old Holyfield, Kirk Johnson, Golota, McCline, Rahman, Oquendo, old Tucker.

Rahman best wins are: Lewis, Sanders, Kali Meehan, Barrett, Sullivan

Ruiz arguably beat Valuev twice

Rahman arguably beat Tua in the rematch

I think Rahman was more talented, but Ruiz has to be higher based on resume and his win in actual fight vs Rahman.

 

Ruiz is a zero-time heavyweight champion. Rahman is a one-time heavyweight champion.

 

If we are getting technical with our word choice, one could argue a difference between "legacy" and "resume," indicating that "legacy" has more to do with perception and fame.

In that case, Rahman has the much greater legacy. For everyone now until forever who reads up on and learns the lineal heavyweight championship, they can't do it without reading his name. He dethroned a great HW champion with an epic KO.

Ruiz really can't touch him in this department. His legacy is being a titlist and having a trilogy with an old Holyfield. If you want to analyze "resume," then I'd sure like to sit down and really look at it but off the top of my head I'm guessing Rahman takes that too easily.

 

Rahman, for the same reason that Buster Douglas has a greater legacy than Ruiz.

Whenever people argue about Lennox Lewis, two names always comes up. McCall and Rahman.

That is greater than anything Ruiz ever did.

I liked and admired both guys for not having the most skilled tools in their arsenal.

That said, gotta go with Rahman. Ruiz was much more limited, but trained harder. Had Rahman had Ruiz' work ethic, he would have been that much better.

Rahman beat Lewis and Sanders and should have had at least one win over Tua. Those 3 alone shatter any wins Ruiz had.

Gotta go with Rahman.

 

Rock - he's shattered to pieces now but for legacy purposes his name will be remembered much more than Ruiz. Ruiz style was boring yet effective. There are several losses on Rock's career that easily should of been wins (Tua, Toney). Could of been so much better.

 

Ruiz was NEVER a Heavyweight Champion. He was a trinket beltholder. Rahman was THE Heavyweight Champion. His lone win over Lennox shits on anything Ruiz did. Ruiz is the only Heavyweight 'champion' to lose to not 1 but 2 former Middleweights. Think about how awful that is for a minute.

Also, the Ruiz-Rahman 'fight' (if you even want to call it that) was one of the worst I have ever seen
