Scar, do you remember what happened exactly why didnt that fight happen? Anyway I would go with Rahman. He beat THE heavyweight champion of the world and has some good wins too. Ruiz was a champion too but not THE champion. As what comes of being professional boxer I think Ruiz was more constant fighter.:think But Rahman it is. Fukin hell, Rahman had some wicked fights like against Corrie Sanders, my favourite hw fights.:good Rahman was fuken dangerous guys if you let him touch you with his right hand.
Very close call.. Ruiz has a better body of work, but Rahman has by far the biggest win.. I may have to go with Rahman.
I voted too close to call.... Part of me says Rahman yet he was soooo inconsistent.....Ruiz just in too many close fights.... resume wise....Rahman bc he hit the lotto when Lewis pulled a Vargas....Ruiz had the overall better resume.
If Vitali hadn't sent Lewis packing Jr woulda bulked up to 210 n may have schooled Lenny ad well. There's no shame losing to the GOAT
Rahman had no defense....he was always selling out trying to bomb his guy out. As a fan of the Rock....you more than anyone should know his lack of defensive awareness had more to do with his KO losses than his chin did.:think
:good Good point Chitown, his awful preparation for fights always confused me too. Ruiz creeping up on the poll. Yall must like to wrastle more than boxin'. :huh
John Ruiz. Whilst Rahman beat Lewis, Ruiz beat and dropped Holyfield, Drew with him and was unlucky not to get the verdict in the other fight. Even if Ruiz was never a champ his resume is better than Rahman.
Didn't Toney beat up both Rahman and Ruiz? **** Rahman was beaten by Oleg Maskaev twice plus Ruiz easily handled Rahman.
for ruiz....he was ducked by lewis when he chose to vacate and fight a very inexperienced grant instead of face ruiz. he was also robbed against valuev and should have been crowned champ. the loss to holyfield was controversial and his win against was much more convincing than lewis' two "wins" over holyfield. he also faced hof'ers roy jones and james toney. this isn't even close...ruiz by a country mile.
I can't believe people are saying Ruiz, who was, possibly, the most boring fighter ever. Rahman wins this hands down. He has the dubious distinction of having one of the best kos ever, Lewis, and also of being on the losing end of one of the greatest kos, maskaev.
