You have 2 former LHW champs who were rated highly in their prime before they both fell from grace, possibly due to Andre Ward. Both Chad Dawson and Kovalev were pretty hyped up back then, both have victories over an old Hopkins, and they had the tools to be great but they both didn’t have the mental toughness and focus to put everything together.

As far as H2H and accomplishments goes at 175 who would you say is better in your opinion? And who do you think fell from grace the worse?

Where does this mental toughness bull**** come from? I didn't know being old, having a bad gas tank and shaky whiskers was directly tied to mental toughness. A mentally weak fighter would have ducked and lost a rematch with Eleider Alvarez.

    The answer is Kovalev.

Prime for prime in a fight I would pick Kovalev.

How you want to rate Dick Tiger's victory over Jose Torres versus Canelo's over Kovalev? Torres was all of 5'10", a former middleweight himself, and just coming off a controversial "win" against a 40 year old Eddie Cotton when Tiger got him. There was only one title at the time, but 1966 wasn't the light heavyweight division's greatest year. Torres didn't have much in the tank after that. He beat number 5 ranked contender Bob Dunlop and then retired.

The true test of a victory is usually what the opponent goes on to do afterwards isn't it? After Sugar Ray Leonard beat Light Heavyweight champion Donny LaLonde, LaLonde retired for three years and was never ranked in the top 10 again. As for Dennis Andries who Tommy Hearns beat for his light heavyweight title, he was only rated about fifth in 1987, but he beat Bobby Czyz and Jeff Harding afterward, staying ranked in the top ten another four years. I doubt the Krusher does as much after this debacle.

Kovalev. If anyone was mentally fragile it was Dawson.
