Better Mayweather win: Marquez or Ortiz?

The Ortiz win was a complete joke. Legal but goes against the norm.

The Marquez fight was a display of speed, skills and great defense.

The Marquez win by light years.

 

Considering how will Marquez did against Pacquiao at the same weight and the fact that he was a top 3 pound for pounder going in to their fight. I'd pick the Ortiz win. Just kidding. The Marquez win was better.

 

Slight lean towards the Marquez fight.

Not too impressive though when you consider FLoyd had every conceivable advantage going into the fight.

 

Can't see how either enhance his legacy ..Marquez was to small and the Ortiz ending though justified was dirty !

 

Neither. Both are meaningless wins.

I would have considered Ortiz one of his better wins, had it ended during a moment where both fighters were actually competing as boxers.

 

They were. Joe Cortez called time in.

 

I'm not saying it wasn't legal, I'm saying they weren't competing at that moment. Ortiz was unaware, right or wrong, that they were supposed to be fighting.

 

All speculation but I feel Ortiz was quite aware and found his way out as fast as he could, Bogo. I think Mayweather didn't win via unexpected punch but rather by breaking the dumbass kid's glass brain and forcing him to find that way out to spare an embarrassing and sustained ass-beating.

 

I think Ortiz is bigger in Mayweather's list of victories because Ortiz was younger, stronger(physically), bigger and was a southpaw. Eventhough the fight had an unfortunate ending (especially for Ortiz), Mayweather showed that you can have all the physical advantages, but if your weak mentally you'll always come up short. Marquez, is the more impressive name and the more accomplished but having to move up two weight divisions you just knew Mayweather would be too strong and too polished. With Ortiz you knew he had the power to hurt Mayweather if he connected, especially if you looked at his record coming in, he had dropped all but one of his previous opponents, I didn't get that feeling with Marquez.

 

Ortiz for sure Marquez was too small too old. Marquez proved that night that he's as smart or smarter then Floyd in the ring he was just physically outgunned in everyway wasn't fair. Ortiz came prepared and was prime pitty bout his brain snap he looked like he was finding more success as the fight went on
