Who do you view as the better middleweight?

Trinidad going into the Hopkins fight?

Or Brook going into the Golovkin fight?

We dont know anything about Brook as a middleweight yet rummy. I think this is a terrible move by GGG.

Trinidad was the number 1 or number 2 p4p fighter in the world at the time he met Hopkins. He unified the 154 pound division and won the WBA 160 strap from long reinging WBA MW champion William Joppy.

At the time, Trinidad was the huge favorite while Hopkins was relatively unknown, only known for losing against a MW, one armed Roy Jones Jr.

Kell Brook is only known for having a close fight with Shawn Porter for the IBF belt, hasn't done anything at all since then. Can't really compare the two.

Trinidad had already beaten Joppy and held a title at middleweight. He was known as a monstrous puncher who could hold his own at the weight.

This is simply dreadful on the part of Golovkin. I can't believe this is actually happening. I'm as stunned as I was when Canelo wanted to fight Khan for the middleweight title. What the hell is going on. Eubanks was a great opponent? Why didn't Golovkin just wait a week or maybe try to renegotiate? Was he burned out from jumping through hoops for Canelo?

I can understand taking an elite opponent from the next weight down. Lara and Canelo are almost the same size as Golovkin and things would be competitive. But Golovkin is just going to bomb Brook out like Canelo did to Khan.

If Eubanks was screwing around and not serious about fighting, what about Jacobs, or Lee? Just any top 20 middleweight would be better than dragging a welterweight up. If you can't get a top 20 middleweight then you should fight someone at super middleweight. Almost anyone up there would get you respect. This is just unacceptable.

This is a Golovkin fan. Obviously Trinidad was the better middleweight going in. His win over Joppy was a a good solid win at the weight. We have nothing for Brook there.

Havent seen Brook at mw yet and imo Tito had no business moving up to mw to fight Hopkins. I knew that fight wasnt going to go well for him that night and it didnt. What made it worse was the postponement of the fight which also hurt Tito.

I think that Hopkins was the better all around middle weight but Brook is in way more trouble with GGG than Felix was with Hopkins. It won't be long.

My bad, when you said MW, my mind automatically gravitated to the two legit MWs. Let me rephrase. Brook can't hold a candle to Felix. No brainer.

    It's kind of irrelevant.

GGG isn't on Hopkins level yet, and Brook isn't on Trinidad's level yet.
