Bam is better. A more technical fighter. Then again that is what I am looking for in a fighter. I like fighters that live off their technique. Boots had good technique, but more than anything he seems strong physically - super quick, reflexes, snap in the punches and generally quick in the head. He could do any other sport, where he isn't too small. Bam is a master at what he does. I just prefer that.
Both are world-class boxers and exciting fighters to watch. But I think Bam has better technical skills.
Bam. Boots relies too much on his athleticism while being willing to trade more often than he should. Ennis can get away with this now, however, every fighter who has done this encounters someone who isn't impressed and grinds them down. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.
Bam is better technically, Boots is more explosive and athletic (not that Bam has an issue in either of these departments). Both get hit too much at times. I favor technique so I'd say Bam has a higher ceiling, but who knows. Boots has a pretty damn high ceiling too.
Prime Roy Jones Jr was better than Michael Nunn, doesn't matter how technical Nunn was, same thing with Boots
Both terrific fighters to watch and very talented. Boots is the more gifted athlete while Bam is the more complete fighter. Personally I think Bam will end up as the greater fighter once they both retire.
Bam will soon meet his Waterloo in The Monster. Boots path ahead is a treacherous one, every future quality opponent is a possible banana peel. All they need is a chin and a punch, Boots is there for the taking. So neither have much in my opinion. If forced to choose, probably Boots.
I assume so, too, because he seems bound to fight inoue soon. I don't see boots fighting a monster like that in the near future. I don't think there is one for boots. Crawford might apply
Do you honestly see Bam beating Junto Nakatani, Takuma Inoue, Sebastian Hernandez and Naoya Inoue? Do you honestly think Boots walks through Fundora. Ortiz, Alimkhanuly, Murtazaliev, Madrimov unscathed?
I don't understand why you're asking this? No, I don't think Bam beats the Inoues, Nakatani and Hernandez but one or two them? Sure, weirder things have happened. Plus, why are we asking who he'd beat 122 when he hasn't fought there? And that's discounting the fact that Bam has already defeated a string of very good opposition going back years now, both old and young. I don't see how these hypotheticals relate to them 'having nothing'. And it's interesting that for Bam it was merely beating the four of them but for Boots you asked if he'd walk through, unscathed. I don't think Boots destroys the lot of them, but I certainly think he's favourite over Murtazaliev, Fundora and Madrimov. Why mention Janibek when he's out on a ban and a weight class above? The real issue for Boots imo is Ortiz. Again, doesn't answer why you think they have nothing?
Because you said.... Neither have much? Tf? No, I don't think either of them have much. Bam clearly isn't going to be hanging around Bantamweight very long, since they're already touting a showdown with Inoue early next year. Regardless, based on his showing against Vargas, I'm not even sure he beats Tsutsumi or Takuma. Bam has long been a weight bully, preying on featherfisted no hopers and terribly degraded former legends. As far as Boots goes, Ortiz destroys him, that's if he makes it to him. Because I don't think Fundora, Murtazaliev or Madrimov are easy wins and if he does beat them, they're probably going to be physically taxing matches. Potentially weakening him for future opponents. Boots is not a defensive wizard, never has been, never will be and the people who think he can just turn it on and off are deluding themselves. His future isn't bright, and I brought up Alimkhanuly because fighters are jumping weight classes left and right now days, his ban is up on December 2, 2026. Which fights are must see at MW? None of them! So that means fighters must be imported. Even Eddie Hearn is saying he can see Boots move up to 168, so they're probably already planning it. Be more cynical!
