    Holmes. Clearly.

Walcott is completely overrated, but his skills especially.

    Holmes was better.

    Walcott was more aesthetic.

They were different...Holmes had the better footwork. Walcott was more a master of feints. Always feinting with his feet and hands. Added to his sneaky power. As some posters have said it was probably to much. Walcott’s problem wasn’t that though it was clearly his chin.

When I see Walcott fight on video I always wonder why a man of average height who appears to be thick and strong compared to his opposition, fights like a tall, rangy man? He'd probably have been more effective coming forward. His "footwork" looked unnecessary most of the time and probably made him less effective. Larry Holmes used his footwork to set up what is IMO the best jab ever.

Well, I don't know about whether or not he'd be better if he adopted a more aggressive style, but I do know that this is a pretty pointless question. Holmes' footwork was clearly levels above Walcott's.
