That little bit of video has had me fascinated all day, so far as trying to visualize how Greb fought. Of course it is so short that I am extrapolating and guessing a lot, but I imagine him constantly turning an opponent and using a lot of shifts. I'd give a lot just to see one round of him fighting, just to see how close I am.

How many Robinsonesque guys did Greb fight? Because Robinson fought a bunch of Grebesque guys; Fullmer, Graziano, LaMotta, etc..

I don’t know if we can say that guys like Fullmer, Graziano and LaMotta can really be compared with Greb, even in terms of style, let alone resume... but I’m going to start using the term ‘Grebesque’ with impunity in my posts.

Mmmmm, I don't think that's at all accurate. Fullmer, Lamotta, et al, were nothing compared to Greb.

Fair enough; good points by you both. Definitely a valid way to look at it.

Comedy gold? Maybe Robinson would have lost less/drew less/had fewer controversial wins in his prime if he was as good as people seem to think. He frequently struggled with his opposition.

Many younger boxing fans don't share the views of old timers on guys like Robinson. If you talk to younger fans you will find many who don't share the views of earlier generations

Excellent post. People often overlook the proliferation of televised bouts as the reason for the Decline of Boxing. There's a disturbingly strong correlation between the number of filmed bouts, and the number of times that boxers get tagged on film.

Do you think if Greb was in Robinsons era he would have faced the guys Robinson avoided like Charley Burley, Eddie Booker, Lloyd Marshall, Holman William's etc?

Those guys are not "Grebesque". These guys below would qualify though.
