Fedor is so far ahead of couture as a fighter they are not in the same league.

Randy Couture vs Fedor in COuture's prime would have been a good fight where Fedor would still come up like the winner.

Couture's only chance would be to cut Fedor's paper skin and win due to the fight being stopped on cuts.

Fedors accomplishments are only superseded by the longevity of the domination of the heavyweight division.

He's been widely considered as the best HW fighter in the world since 2003's beating of prime Nogueira. Nog was at the time thought to be invincible because he beat the best of the crop. When Fedor showed up and dominated Nog people didn't come out of shock for a week. They both again met in 2004 World HW GP in finals. To get to the finals they had to beat the best of the best. UFC's heavyweight division at the time was **** compared to Pride. It was ruled by two people, Arlovski and Sylvia.

So until this day, Fedor is still considered the best HW in the world and arguably best p4p in the world which is a title generally given to fighters of lighter weight divisions.

Now Couture, he's a beast. But let's face it, he's gotten free tickets to the championship few too many times. Hell since 2001 he's had 1 or 2 non title fights? Really? He got a HW title shot after 5 year semi successful light heavyweight run. Not taking anything away from Couture, he's a fantastic fighter, but his "greatness" was achieved with some luck. Like the fact that UFC HW division sucked so bad that an old man walks in and gets a title shot without winning or even having a HW fight in 5 years. He DID have to do the work to win but in a young MMA every fight is a potential loss. Therefore him not fighting others to become a CLEAR #1 contender before a title shot is a quite fortunate any way you look at it.

I hope UFC gets Fedor, Barnette, Arlovski, Alex.E., and someone loike Overeem. And they will have exciting HW fights everytime.

is this a joke? I'll put it this way, had these two met 6-7 years ago, Randys future wouldnt have been as bright as it is now

Couture is arguably one of the most overrated fighters in MMA history.

Quit being elitist assholes unless you want it back when somebody asks you about 125lb c class shooto; he wasn't stating his case he wanted an answer, if you want to go beyond a simple fun joke, go **** yourself because a lot of you aren't much further along, and all of you used to wonder the same questions.

zarman, I think I may know where you're coming from. Couture made it to the top in two divisions, where Fedor has always remained in one. I'm a boxing fan, and often times in boxing a fighter with world titles in multiple weight division is ranked higher p4p than a fighter that has strictly fought at heavyweight. Your question would be similar to a boxing debate comparing the careers Evander Holyfield with Muhammad Ali.

I'll attempt to answer your question. Fedor is better p4p. Most regard him as the best p4p fighter in his sport. Couture isn't even regarded as the best of any single division.
