Lewis and tua looked like super hero s one 67 dreadlock superheavyweight, one tall haired tysinesque mfer. The element of danger was always there till round 12. Lewis put on a clinic on the great young heavyweight , marvelous stuff. Aj did his thing the stiff eastern european standing straight up style. No bad intentions from the right hand and also Ruiz was breathing heavy all night with no pep in his step unless it's pepperoni. But a win is a win and aj iz a good ambassador for hw boxing. Large and in charge humble when winning or losing looking like a chiseled Greek warrior. A good example for the kids able to box the sweet science . Mentally tested and passed with flying colours shutout.

Tua was a far more dangerous opponent than Ruiz. Far more.

no Disrespect to AJ but a comparison like this makes you realise how much more accomplished Lewis was. He was taking on some dangerous young contenders and either outclassing or destroying them. Tua wasn’t at his best though but no where near the pudding Ruiz was for the rematch. I’m not lewis’s Biggest fan but he was the last great heavyweight in my eyes. AJ has a lot of work to do to reach that point, possible though.

Tua never won rounds, nor were there barely nicked rounds by Lewis. AJ won but hardly dominated. Mind you Tua wasn't even 6 foot and Ruiz had 4 iches of reach over Tua. So maybe Lewis' is a slightly better win IMO

Ruiz doesn't belong in a discussion involving the name of Tyson or Tua. Tua was defensively sound, never got KO in his career, with the same power and speed as Tyson, and superior ring IQ. It's a different category. Ruiz is more comparable to Butterbean, only he is slightly more athletic and more in shape and scored a huge upset. That's the only difference.

Tyson is on another stratosphere comparing to Tua in terms of skills, speed and ring IQ. Can you imagine prime Tyson struggling badly and losing round after round to 10-1 glass-jawed novice Maskaev or David Izon or being lucky to get the nod on the judges cards over journeyman Jeff Wooden?

Well yes, how about comparing Tua Vs. Maskaev to Tyson Vs. Tillis?

    Tua was better than Tyson.

Comparing these two fights is absurd, they looked nothing alike.
As somebody else already pointed out, the David Tua that Lewis fought was a lot more dangerous than the 280+lbs, single shot throwing Andy Ruiz that AJ had to deal with. That version of Andy Ruiz who showed up on Saturday (or rather didn't show up) should get stopped by any real HW champion.

Lennox Lewis put up a great, smart 'boxing' performance against David Tua. He kept Tua at the end of his jab all night long and established his presence in the center of the ring. Lennox showed great ring generalship in that fight. Good, dominating win.

I didn't see that with AJ. I saw a nervous fighter who over moved and ran from a slow, single shot throwing and ill prepared opponent. It wasn't great boxing from AJ, those who believe that narrative don't understand boxing. Because AJ wouldn't have won the fight with his gameplan if Ruiz had been prepared, counterpunching and throwing combinations. I guess AJ would have lost a decision then. AJ really got lucky that Ruiz just f*cked up big time.

At the end of the day, a W is W and that's all that matters. But it's not a big win or a great performance by AJ by a long shot.

Better comparison would be Tyson vs Tillis to Tua vs Wooden

Tillis was much better than Wooden and Tyson victory over him was way more convinsing

Tyson >>>>>>>>> Tua. Completely different levels

I am a kiwi and followed Tua

But Tyson was clearly better. Wish they had fought each other, though!
