I disagree. Wooden was on his bicycle camping behind his jab and guard the whole fight. Maskaev and Tillis were much more similar trying to fight back. Tua was more cautious than Tyson, was getting hit a lot less as well, and could score late KO like he did against Maskaev.

Boxing is about hit and not being hit. Tyson was more careless (that gave him the more flashy wins) and he paid for that very early in his career. Buster Douglas still has the biggest upset in history to this date. Tua would never have been KOed by Buster Douglas.

Lewis was class against Tua, the crowd booed but it was disciplined and commanding. He had experience boxing that way [against Holyfield] whereas Joshua learnt some movement but still has to learn to vary his jab and mix it all up. Here is a look at Lewis`s style in the Tua and Holy fights in this clip from this video.

Lewis was a lot more busier throwing actual punches, than that petrified bodybuilder Joshua!

    Lewis Tua
    Thrown. 527. 288
    landed 213. 51

    Bodybuilder. Blob

    Thrown 371. 261
    landed 107. 60

Please don't compare Joshua to Muhammad Ali Barry Mcguigan, I'm eating food!
    Lol

Who was the bigger waste of talent? Fast fres oquendo or David tuavele tua? Also I wanted to point out one thing about Tyson, he never had any defence. He was built to come forward and seek and destroy. He never learnt how to play defence, thus gassing him against giant hws.

Lewis versus Tua was the better performance IMO.

So basically saying iron Mike was the worst of the bunch in terms of wasted talent?

Oh sorry, now I know what you mean. You sonned me man, Tyson DID have defence, just didn't take breaks parrying or catching punches leaning back against the ropes catching his breath nor counterpunching with pop shots. This stood out in the fights versus Danny Williams, Kevin McBride, he never fought those guys in spurts taking breaks instead he blew his load and gassed. However this was after all the twilight of his career. God bless mike.

Yeah, agreed. His defence was built almost exclusively around his athletic ability and the training drills of Cus D'Amato. Once his physical abilities diminished, his defence was exposed as you point out in his latter fights. But in his prime, there were very few flaws to his game, offence and defence...

Those head movements were not part of a defensive system, it was meant to go for the kill getting inside and landing KO punches. Tyson did not have a good defense. His upset lost, loses by KO and knockdown in sparring when he was at his peak are proofs he was average at best defensively.

Lewis...not even in the same ballpark. Although Ruiz wasn't really able to get any closer to Joshua than Tua was to Lewis, Lennox used great ring generalship and fought a real fight vs Tua. Joshua ran like a scared little boy against Ruiz. Reminded me of Wlad against Peter when he was on the comeback trail and was terrified of everything his opponent was doing. It really is terribly off-putting when you have a giant guy who looks like he's chiseled out of stone running scared vs a short fat guy.

    Lewis against Tua
    Ruiz against Joshua

Lewis totally dominated Tua despite playing very safe.

Joshua beat Ruiz decisively but got banged up a bit in the process.
