Better pound-for-pound: Barrera or Morales??

    The most difficult decision in boxing. I love both these guys so much.

    Barrera won their series 2-1

    But Morales has the best win of either resume, beating Pacquiao

    And other than that, I think their achievements, resume and abilities are of a very similar level.

    Opinion?

    Close one. If I were forced to choose between the two greats, I'd pick Barrera. I rate the Hamed win higher than the PacMan win. Both had bad losses. The trilogy is 2-1, but that 1 is still a bit controversial for Morales... of course Erik still beat Jones and PacMan, so it's very close. Winning at 135 would've made the difference but Morales failed. It's 51-49 to Barrera for me.

    I choose Barrera, and not just because he is my favourite fighter.

    He is 2-1 against Morales, and I think that is pivitol when discussing who should be rated higher P4P.

    Morales does have wins over Jones Jr and Pacquiao, but Barrera's win against an undefeated favourite Naseem Hamed is huge.

    I think it's a pick 'em.

    Morales ... he beat the guys that beat Barrera (except Marquez) and he went up to lightweight and made an attempt at a title.

    I rate the Pac win slightly higher than the Hamed, but otherwise I agree with this analysis: I go 51-49 MAB

    both legends are on equal footing, IMO.

    Morales won against junior jones whom MAB never defeated while MAB beats Hamed.

    Morales won against pacquiao in their first outing while MAB lost to pacquiao on both occasions.

    MAB started at a much lower division than where morales started...
