Out of the two who do you think is the better, more accurate puncher? Who punches harder and throws better combos? And who do you think countered better? I personally think Mayweather punched harder and has a better punching technique, mostly whenever he punches one at a time with his right. Whitaker has a better jab and combos. His punches flow like water when he let his hands go.
Pernell, no doubt. He never had hand problems and punched hard enough to always keep his opponents respectful.
2 of my favourites... Floyd punches harder... look at the KO % They both don't have huge power at WW though but they can both keep their opponent honest. I'm sure Floyd can do that at MW too. Floyd is a harder puncher
floyd by a good margin..his punching technique cannot be rivaled. floyd is the kenshiro of boxing..he can hit you with everything..
Floyd by a bit. There isn't a punch Floyd can't throw, even though I have been less than impressed with his left hook lately. That was one of his best punches. Now it comes off as a bit of a slap. But prime for prime. Floyd is the better puncher.
Mayweather probably hits harder on a consistent basis. However, Whitaker could do more damage with a single left hand punch than Mayweather could with any of his shots.
Pernell was pretty feather fisted and was also the world's WORST finisher. Bad. His knockouts are mostly flash ones, except that sloppy desperation Hurtado one - when Sweet Pea was going for the knockout he looked downright amateurish, which is bizarre considering the completeness of his game otherwise. There is an early fight where he knocks down the guy about seven times starting in the first round and just keeps going to weird non effective moves like clinches and working the other side - guys like Hagler would smell blood and finish you, Sweet Pea was always surprised when the knockouts came. Every shot he landed hurt the guy bad and he couldn't finish him. Sometimes his kos were one punch accidents. Floyd is a much better finisher and I think a harder, more committed puncher.
