Off course, Ali is overrated, just as it is obvious that, next to Joe Louis, he is the greatest HW in history.
Money is also overrated, which doesn't stop it from being one of the best ever.

Just because someone is considered greater in reality does not mean that he is not great. Ali and Money had great CVs but also great PR.

I don't know whose CV is better. It's such a difficult comparison that I'm always surprised by the certainty of people who clearly elevate one over the other... Both of them seemed untouchable at some point. They both had great victories... but sentiments always win in such a thread. But if I had to choose, I would probably choose Floyd, and I should immediately point out that I have no problem if someone chooses Ali...
I've read most of this thread and I haven't learned anything that I didn't know before, I've noticed some funny arguments, some good observations, this exchange is as funny as the exchange of blows between Hagler and Hearns but there's nothing groundbreaking here.

He was number 8 pound for pound, had already had two good wins at 147, and was at his peak. You weren't watching boxing back then.

@Loudon and @JohnThomas1 are way up in their feelings to be liking such a disingenuous post.

Wrong. Canelo wasn't only prime; he and his team pushed for the fight because they thought they'd win.

Name an undefeated Ring champion on the pfp list who was not considered prime.

You’ll be telling us how great the Berto and Connor wins were soon.

That’ll be a treat for us.

    Stop.

YOU are the ONLY guy who thinks that Canelo was in his prime at that point.

Also, Georgie has already tied you up in knots with this.

Because if Canelo was in his prime back then, then how great was he, considering that he could barely beat Trout and Lara?

Now you know damn well that Canelo’s prime was between the back end of his MW run, and the start of his SMW run.

    We all know this.

It’s just that you are forced to twist things to suit your narrative.

You even condone the catch-weight, despite the fact that they were both champions in the SAME division.

    Shameful.

    Your request means nothing.

Again, there’s only YOU who believes him to have been in his prime.

    Nobody else does.

    Canelo doesn’t.

    His management/promotional team don’t.

Not at all. Tyson and Lewis were both prime just overconfident and underprepared

BTW I'll answer the request myself. Floyd Mayweather is just about the only fighter who spent time on a pfp list as an undefeated Ring champion while not in his prime.

    You thought what??

Again, there’s ONLY YOU on the ENTIRE thread who’s pretending to believe that Canelo was prime, just so you can hype Floyd’s resume.

Yet you are too dense to see that if that were the case, it actually devalues it.

I've already told you this a million times, but you're either too stupid to understand or you have memory issues: Mike Tyson is my BOAT, not my GOAT. Huge difference.

He did not flop at all, he still became world champion once again in the 90s, despite being a shell of himself.
Flopping means he sucked alltogether, which he did not.

Prime. I was in attendance for his fights with Commey and Kambosos. Saying he wasn't prime due to a respiratory issue that affected a single fight is a cop out. Wait, you're not even saying that bc Kambosos was 2021. No idea what point you're failing at making.
