@themaster458 This is how i see it. Floyd Mayweather Jr notable wins ODLH Manny Pacquiao Canelo Alvarez Ricky Hatton Miguel Cotto Diego Corrales Shane Mosley Juan Manuel Marquez Marcos Maidana Jose Luis Castillo Zab Judah Genaro Hernandez Arturo Gatti DeMarcus Corley Andre Berto Victor Ortiz Carlos Baldomir Angel Manfredy Sharmba Mitchell Jesus Chavez Gregorio Vargas Phillip Ndou Roberto Guerro Carlos Hernandez Muhammad Ali notable wins George Foreman Sonny Liston Floyd Patterson Joe Frazier Ken Norton Jerry Quarry Zora Folley Jimmy Ellis Ernie Terrell Ron Lyle Oscar Bonavena Joe Bugner Cleveland Williams Henry Cooper George Chuvalo Mac Foster Doug Jones Oscar Bonavena Buster Mathis Earnie Shavers Leon Spinks Karl Mildenberger Bob Foster Jimmy Young 24 names for each a pretty balanced list i think.
Mayweather did not fight Pac in 2010. Could you imagine Ali trying to age Liston out and refuse to fight him until 1968? Lol. This isn't close. Are their guys greater than Ali? Sure. SRR, Armstrong, Langford etc. But not Floyd.
Brewster lost to two C class Heavyweights via one sided decisions which is why he wasn't getting big fights. And he did get an opportunity vs Wladimir despite on paper not deserving an opportunity based on his prior record. Williams was more deserving than Brewster was that's for sure.
Robert Guerrero was a three division champ, undefeated, and on pfp lists. You gave him an 84, below Bugner and Cooper and same as Spinks. Pac was the best guy in boxing other than Floyd. You gave the same ranking to Frazier who had been slaughtered by Foreman. Corrales was an undefeated champion who was knocking everyone out and top 5 pfp, similar to Foreman. He got an 88 but Foreman got a 97 even though Corrales is the guy who became a successful champion again. Jose Luis Castillo was also clearly better and more accomplished than Bugner and Cooper.
Are we not giving Floyd credit for having first rate longevity and winning while past his prime? Should Benitez rank ahead of Hopkins?
1. Mayweather did beat a top twenty pfp fighter. (But…but…but…fifty year old Moore!) 2. Mayweather did beat an ATG in his prime. 3: Mayweather gave up all sorts of age and weight disadvantages whereas Ali rarely did against worthy opponents. Foreman isn’t a top ten heavyweight all time, so I’m not sure if Ali actually beat an ATG in their prime.
Foreman isn't a top 10 Heavyweight in "your opinion" which is a very small minority most would have Foreman in the top 10 so that's not a good argument.
George Foreman is indeed a consensus top ten all time great heavyweight. I'll provide receipts, i.e. citations if asked for them. I'll also provide the definition of consensus.
I'm actually curious what your top ten looks like if you don't have Foreman since most people have him on their list and who would you replace him with Frazier maybe?
Consensus=general agreement, broadly accepted. You can do a Google search. Foreman is in the top ten of virtually every list of all time great heavyweights from an authoritative source.
I didn't say Moore was a better win, I said Pacquiao isn't top 20 but Moore is. It's the only one between them. Who? If Canelo was in his prime, then he's you're lowering the bar for him to be an all-time great coz he almost lost to both Trout and Lara; or he wasn't in his prime. So? Mayweather wasn't a heavyweight, of course he fought more often with a weight advantage. at Foreman not being top 10 heavyweights. Please, by all means tell me which ten heavyweights are greater. And do Liston and Frazier not exist? What do you mean Ali never beat an ATG in their prime You're skirting around the point. Ali beat better fighters. Do you have any rebuttal to that fact outside of your weird idea that Mayweather is the best ever at everything.
