Pacquiao, Marquez, and Floyd is how I'd have it. Marquez knocking Manny out is better than any win on Mayweather's resume, and to most, it's not the first time he beats him. There is definitely a gap in overall depth of resumes between the two, but I don't think it's wide enough to overcome the fact that Juan climbed the highest divisional peak available against all odds, and Floyd decided he'd rather not.

Take each fighters three best wins away....i think you find the answer really very easy.

Pacman has KO'd in 6 on his record, no way does he rank higher than Marquez or Mayweather, this is where everyone goes wrong in ranking fighters!

But... IF Juan was all 'Bout legacy as opposed to proving he was better than Pac who knows... Lets not forget 135-140 class was wide open for him.
(Plenty of legacy making fights Juan gave up in search of Manny)

Why would you do that? For some people, those top three or four wins are more valuable than overall depth. It's what you did at the highest level.

seriousy take the three best wins off the resume....if the resume is as good as people say then it still should hold up.

because i think people give too much credit to certain fights...trying to eqaul out the lows.

so for each fighter...take the three best wins away...and then bump resumes.....if the COMPLETE BODY of work is as great as some suggest...then it still should hold up and not take a massive hit.

Right. It distorts the entire process. Some wins are great enough to compensate for gaps in depth, other times they aren't. Taking the best ones away isn't the answer to evaluating a fighter's resume. A whole load of comfortable rankings we're familiarized ourselves with today would fly out the window. Frazier? Duran? Leonard? Hagler? Foreman? Imagine the havok, the sheer chaos.

No it wouldnt....a resume is a resume...a COMPLETE BODY OF WORK....i think those fighters mentoned still would have great resumes if you took three best wins away....if ou took three best wins away and the resume takes that big a hit to where now it looks questionable...then how good really is the resume?

i do recognize i am saying COMPLETE body of work so yes you would have to include them...but what im saying is...if they have a great resume...it still should hold up..even if three wins are taken out...these fighters alllll have 40+ fights some damn near double....you take three away and all hell breaks loose?
