Mayweather is undefeated but Pacquiao has beaten greater fighters and has climbed a lot more from being a stick thin flyweight to owning Margarito at light middleweight.

What biggest fights did he avoid? And before you say Margarito, he accepted but Arum wouldn't agree to the contract extension.

Now that that is out of the way, shoot :good

Bit of a shame there wasn't Alexis Arguello and Azumah Nelson campaigning at 130 in their primes in place of Corrales and Hernandez, or a JCC Sr. at 135 in place of Jose Luis Castillo because Floyd would've fought them in all likelihood. He was going to fight anybody he had to in order to reach the status and luxury he enjoys today. He certainly 'fought the best' for what was available to him at his preferred and more 'natural' weight range. Gave his toughest opponent at the time a rematch almost immediately. I think he honestly could've been just as immense at 140, but the dollar signs started going off too soon and he moved up again quickly to chase them.

Agreed. There really wasn't much for him at 140 unfortunately since Cotto or Hatton didn't want any, then Tszyu retired. He could have fought Harris I guess but he ended up getting KTFO by Maussa :patsch

Marquez resume, apart from the Pacquiao wins, is above average for a Hall of Famer.

That statement could confuse some people. Lets not forget that Pacquiao beat a drained Margarito, who was past his best after a long layoff/suspension and was without his plaster.
