Who tought Hatton had any chances before the fight? Honestly, HBO and 24/7 tried to lure you into that to sell you the fight but the end of the Hatton-Collazzo fight, there was already a good impression of what was about to happen...

You forgot to say that Mayweather fought washed up names that looks great on a record. Most of these guys were at the end of the road for most of them. As for the "Castillo" win...can we really call this a win....be honest.

All were reigning champions when he beat him. And he fought Castillo twice. I mean you do know this right? Regardless how you felt about the first fight.

A moddleweight going down and koing smaller guys isnt that great. Mayweather moving up 5 weight classes is impressive.

Kelly Pavlik vs Ricky Hatton. Pascal vs Cotto? Corrales vs Glen Johnson.

    Fixed.

    Floyd, multi-weight champion.

Hopkins, Multi-weight champion. Oldest ever champion, broke the record for Middleweight title defenses.

Hopkins had the greater career with more accomplishments. So, Hopkins.

Floyd is a 5 weight champion. Hopkins is a 2 weight champion.

Hopkins middleweight reign came in the worst middleweight era ever. And was only allowed because Roy tapped that ass and left to becone a true legend.

    B-Hop has the better resume.

    Oscar - Has-been
    Mosley - Has-been
    Marquez - blown up Lightweight
Hatton - Pfft - That joker almost lost his first and only ever Welterweight fight before fighting Floyd.

Cotto - Damaged goods by the time Floyd faced him.

Castillo - Hmm never really reached any great heights yet pushed Floyd very close in both fights, arguebly beating him in the first fight.

Corrales - Badly weight drained, shouldn't have even been in the ring that night.

Floyd's resume is quite weak and lacking in ATG's.

The MW division wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. Hopkins fought who he could fight, and set the record for defenses. Joe Louis fought in not the greatest era but he set the record and that is why he is an ATG, fighting who he had to fight.

Mayweather didn't even fight his ATG contemporary Pacquiao. That hurts his standing ATG wise.

    Terrible post.

Hopkins 2 best wins came against welterweights. Winky Wright began his career at 147 and Hopkins dragged him up to 170.

    Next tier of victories

Antonio Tarver- best win is defeating a shadow of Roy Jones jr. Done nothing of note since.
Glen Johnson - journeyman level at 160
    Kelly Pavlik- one dimensional.
Jean Pascal - lost to Carl Froch. Fortunate to beat a flighty Chad Dawson

Middleweight reign - nobodies mostly. Besides being throttled by a one handed Roy

Debate any of the points ive raised.

    Hopkins.

What he did AFTER his two losses to Taylor is what really made him a true ATG.

Few gave him a shot against Tarver, who was the best LHW in the world at the time and had cleaned out the division. Hopkins dominated him.

Then he beats Winky at 170. Not one of his best wins but still a solid win given their common opponents (Taylor, Tito).

Then he fights a close fight with Calzaghe. Boring as hell but he limited Calzaghe's output considerably.

Then people call him old and done after he shows signs of gasing against Calzaghe and fights Pavlik. Some fear for his safety. He completely and utterly dominates this young lion and takes his soul.

Then he beats Orneales and Jones. No big deal.

Then he fights Pascal twice. He beat him both times no matter what the judges say and becomes the oldest champ ever.

Then he fights Dawson twice. Some say he escaped in the first one but he showed in the second fight that at age 46, he still had amazing defense and very good hand speed. Dawson landed all but a few hard shots on him.

    LEGEND!

bernard hopkins priced himself out against Roy Jones jr, Calzaghe and never seemed to even have attempted to fight James Toney.

Why in the early 2000's instead of fighting Calzaghe and Roy did he instead challenge welterweights?

Consider this, Mayweather was just as dominate at SFW as Hopkins was at middle, a division with far more talent. Yet Floyd left to chase fights with DLH and Mosley. Why didnt Hopkins leave middle to chase Roy and Calzaghe?

Hopkins' era is stronger than this era for Middleweights.

Hopkins has a slightly better resume, sort of. Let's be real. Some of Bernard's greatest wins were against smaller guys that he dragged up in weight.
