After Pac-Marquez III, you can no longer sweep the Mayweather-Marquez fight under the rug. Floyd made a world class P4P fighter look like an amateur.

Marquez > Trinidad as far as boxing status, IMO.

the JMM that fought Pac last year would KO the JMM that Floyd fought.

Hopkins will always be greater. He fought the world, and Mayweather cherry picked, cried post fight, and spent two months in jail during his career.

Mayweather and Pacquaio are functionally the same size. Manny has been walking around at 160 or so for years.

They don't have the same physical dimensions on which that weight is distributed, and Pac doesn't rehydrate to the same extent, if I remember right. And again, my main point was with JMM's own conditioning. These weren't the only factors, but people dismiss them entirely when equating the two versions of Juan each of them fought.

Pac and Mayweather are both usually 150 on fight night. No, your point was that Floyd has a bigger size advantage than Manny did on JMM, and that really isn't true. Floyd is just longer. Pac is bulkier and much more sturdy.

The size was a minimal factor. It was a horrible style match up, exacerbated by the Floyd's athletic qualities. Marquez will always struggle wit a fighter like Floyd.

Mayweather clearly. Bernard's wins over guys like De La Hoya, Pavlik, Pascal and Wright don't mean much to me. Those wins are good in name only.

Losses = part of a resume. Hopkins may have the better wins but overall i'll go with Floyd.

Size means more than just weight; Floyd's style was a challenge, but it's silly to suggest his height and reach don't play into that. Pac usually rehydrates to about 148 and has a much smaller frame, and Floyd somewhere around 153. Anytime Marquez landed something in the pocket, Floyd took his forearm and pushed him right back out to the outside where he had an advantage. As if JMM's own weight didn't slow him down (which to me was the main issue), he had that against him as well. Hopkins did not have those types of advantages against Tito.

Personally I look at a resume as what you achieved, not some subtraction of what you achieved minus what you didn't; a loss doesn't at all diminish your accomplishments.

Can you show me the fights where Floyd rehydrated to 153 by fight night?

I was actually trying to look for some tale of the tapes but couldn't find many. It may very well be lower, around 150, as was said.

So basically Mayweather and Pacquiao are virtually the same weight?
