What rubbish you can add Scott as being his no2. He also has white wolf, Molina, Arreolla, Audley, Kelvin Price and Beck all of whom are atleast par to the likes of Wade, Monroe and perennial easy beat Rosado who made GGGs face look a disgraceful mess GGGs best win Lemieux got shut out by Alcine if we want to play that game. GGG might have beaten more former champs but 160 has had 10x the champs that heavy has had since Wilder was a contender, and the likes of Geale and Rubio are definitely not championship material, if they were in a division strong like heavy the wouldn't have made it out of the shallow end.
There is a difference and a reason why Wilder does not get the same sort of hype and fanfare. Wilder has Joshua, Parker, Haye, Fury, Ortiz, Klitschko, Povetkin in his weightclass that he could fight or at least try to fight, his best opponent has been Stiverne and Wilder isn't regarded as the number 1 in his division. Golovkin is the number one in his division at this moment in time, I don't think that is in dispute. Canelo dropped a WBC title to avoid him. Saunders and Jacobs have been less than keen to make the fight. He is avoided at 160. Resume, Golovkin has a better resume although I think most will agree it's not great.
I do agree GGG has a better resume, I don't dispute that and I agree he is the no1 in his division whereas Wilder could not definitely claim to be the best in his. Talking as if Wilder has a garbage resume in comparison to GGG is farcical. GGG edges it but the gap isn't huge by any means. GGG doesn't deserve many more plaudits than Wilder if we are being fair. Basically in the same league really.
Wilder has one of the best resumes in boxing right now. He fought ATG Jason Gavern in his 32 th pro fight!!
I agree with that, Wilder is only one or two good opponents away from matching/overtaking GGG's resume. I think a lot of it has to do with several facts: 1) Some people give credit for GGG's amateur wins (e.g. Bute) and the fact that Saunders/Jacobs/Eubank Jr/Martinez/Quillin etc. openly duck(ed) or avoid(ed) GGG at some point or another. If you add all those names to his resume it becomes pretty good. 2) GGG looks a lot better than Wilder, Wilder's showboating and windmilling have worked so far but he doesn't look like a top pro boxer. GGG looks like a p4p talent while Wilder does not. In defense of Wilder, he's still pretty young and still improving. 3) To be fair, people like a big KO and they tend to get it with GGG's fights. Together with the big talk from his promoters, this creates a bit of hype around GGG.
I don't care what you're talking about right now. I've already stated my opinion on the Jacobs fight numerous times, but until it's signed I suggest you get a grip.
Fair enough. I don't see why it shouldn't happen, unless there are promotional issues. I think Golovkin / Jacobs is an excellent fight, certainly better than Brook or Eubank or god forbid, Wade.
