    :lol::rofl:patsch

    It took Lewis 8 rounds to get rid of the worst version of Mike Tyson that existed. Tyson was out of shape, uninterested, just showed up for the pay day which he admitted in the post fight interview and Lewis was scared to take him out. I have never seen a trainer as animated telling a fighter he was in there with a "dead man" and Lewis still would not take him out. That fight should have lsated 3 or 4 rounds.

    Lewis hurt his right hand and according to him, it took him several rounds to climatise to the pain before he could throw it full force again. He said he didn't see any point in either explaining or arguing with Manny about this. Wish I could find a link to the interview but it's around somewhere.

    He's not Holyfield. Plus, he beat Holyfield. Two horrible sins.
    Let's not even go into the chin fetish... ;)

    I don't have an interview link, but I do remember Lewis's deadpan line.

    After being yelled at by Steward, "I figured this wasn't the time to tell him I'd hurt my hand."

    I am a big Lewis fan and even I will freely admit Holyfield has the better resume, hence why he wasn't as dominant as Lewis was.

    Holyfield fought a better version of Tyson, he beat Moorer, beat Mercer before Lewis did and the trilogy with Bowe is a match for Lewis victories over Holyfield himself.

    I have to say I think Holyfield is underrated here on this forum, he was a top 10 ATG heavyweight for me.

    Its in the Legendary nights clip. I dont think Lewis was telling the truth though, he knew his entire legacy was riding on that fight. Had he been ko'd by Tyson it would have been a disaster for his legacy, he wasnt going to lower the boom until he knew Tyson was completely done, and it was a right that did it.

    That he's so absurdly overrated by many boxing fans. Holyfield should be winning this poll going away. His resume blows Lewis's away. He fought pretty much the same quality of guys at HW, often the SAME exact guys - and when you add his cruiser competition and the fact he faced a prime Bowe and a better version of Tyson, it should be a slam dunk. But not in Lewis overrating land.:patsch

    Well Zak, you'll be happy to know, I voted for Holyfield, but it wasn't just his heavyweight comp, it was the combination of heavyweight and cruiser comp. Taken together I think his resume (if resume means comp + accomplishments) is better. That said I think Lewis had a better career at heavyweight. But over all it's Holyfield and Holyfield was certainly a better P4P fighter.:yep

    In terms of Bowe being prime and that making a difference, I think it helps when you actually win most of the fights.

    You deserve credit for voting in a fair and rational manner. But I doubt all your fellow Lewis fans did likewise, as the results of this poll demonstrate.

    I think the question could have been asked a little more clearly. If this question simply applies to heavyweight resume's and focus on wins rather than who someone fought, then I can see a case for Lewis. If on the other had you focus on their entire careers, which would include Holyfield's time in the CW division, then I think Holyfield clearly wins.
