Ahemm....shouldn't winning count as well? Yes, Evander fought the talented but underachieving Bowe three times and ****ing lost two. he won the remathc against an out of shape Bowe by the smallest margin possible in boxing. Lewis KO'd Bowe with headgear in the Olympics.

Lewis was far more dominant. Holyfield went life and death against almost all elite opponents. Lewis utterly destroyed Ruddock, Golota, Grant, Rahman in the rematch.

No, but Lewis never struggled 12 hard rounds with ancient fighters in their 40's or barely got by Bobby Chyz or got beat by a blown up LHW like Moorer.

Lewis beat Bowe like he was nothing in the Olympics. He destroyed Golota, who spanked Bowe. He beat Evander fair and square twice, but Evander's resume is better because he lost two out of three against Bowe???

Evander had great heart. Lewis was a greater fighter, clearly the best of his generation.

Complete crap. Losing efforts against a guy who wasted much of his talent through lack of discipline beats the career of Lewis? Where does Holyfield have a single dominant KO win against an elite opponent who was actually in top shape?

    Where does Lewis?

Holyfield beat a better version of Tyson
    Foreman
dropped and won more convincingly against Ray Mercer
    Bowe
    Moorer (really twice)
    Holmes
    list goes on.....

Beating Shannon Briggs, David Tua, Andrew Golota, Mike Grant and Francois Botha, doesnt impress me too much.

It's a shame peoples bias stops them being honest, im sure smoking burt cooper wouldn't of been handing lewis his arse like he was holy :patsch

Both are great fighters and its a shame holy keeps tarnishing his legacy by going on :-( Lewis was the most dominant champion. He got dodged horribly through out his career even by tyson who paid step aside money and dumped the wbc after court case after court case. Bowe didnt have the minerals to face Lewis either.

Lewis was the better champ, and the moe dominant champion end of story.

    :good

Holyfield abused a better version of David Tua in sparring for Tyson, not the butterball that Lewis fought. Answer the question than. What great fighters did Lewis beat. An ancient Holmes could have beaten 99% of Lewis opponents in the 90's!

Its close but I go for Lewis. What handicaps him is that the 3 main US fighters of that era showed a marked reluctance to fight him till they had run out of other options. Bowe's infamous actions dumping his belts will go down in boxing history as one of its most shameful.

Its easy to dominant against garbage and washed up all time greats. Lewis was starched by two mid level contenders had his hands full with guys like Mercer and Bruno. Would we even be talking about Lewis in the same breath as Holyfield if he came up in the mid 80's or would we be comparing him more to Tyrell Biggs?:hi:

The common argument is that Lewis only beat older Holyfield and Tyson, but those same people should recognise that a past his best heavier than ever and rustier than ever after being out the ring over a year Lewis who at 37 years and 10 months old Lewis beat 31 year old prime Klitschko. Klitschko who became champ and was anointed by THE RING and called Lineal by many, Klitschko who ha snot been beaten since and 6 yrs later still holds the belt.
