I'm a DLH fan but its clear many of the "scalps" he collected were against men nearing retirement and a couple of weight classes norte of where their primes were.

Lets compare their WINS again dopes

This is the correct RESUME for both fighters.

    Mayweather:

    Mosley
    Marquez
    Hatton
    DLH
    Judah
    Baldomir
    Corley
    Castillo
    Jesus Chavez
    Corales
    Manfredy
    G. Hernandez
    Gatti

    De La Hoya:

    Mayorga
    Forbes
    Sturm
    Vargas
    Castillejo
    Leija
    Oba Carr
    Quartey
    Gatti
    Whitaker
    Camacho
    Julio C Chavez

Resume is who you BEAT! Not who you fight. If its who you fight then Gatti has one of the best resume's of the 2000's. Seriously, its not a hard concept.

De la Hoyle lost all the ones that would made him great, while Floyd still remains undefeated, with De la Hoyle on his resume of victories.

He won against Whitaker. Floyd doesn't have any win of that sorts.

How much credit do you get for beating an old shot Whitaker?

It is a contest actually of someone who has the who's who in his resume but lost to the biggest who's who and a fighter whose who's who were fought either at the end stage of the fighter, wrong weight division.

So I would say it is hard to judge.

Gayweather's who's who consist of old Hoya and Mosley, small jmm and hatton. The rest of the resume are just okay.

When De La Hoya moved to welter, he fought the three long-time champs and top p4p fighters Whitaker, Quartey and Trinidad in the space of a couple years! And then followed that up with an undefeated Mosley.

That's how you dare to be great, and puts Mayweather's run at welter to shame.

Past his thirties he fought 3 prime P4P kings, Hopkins, Mayweather and Pacquiao (even tho it was a cherry pick gone wrong).

He may have lost most of his biggest fights, still the names he beat are more than enough for his resume to be greater than Mayweather's with extra points for consistently fighting the best.

I'm just getting to this thread, but I have to agree with this. Congrats to him for fighting these tough guys, but if you lose to all of them, then who cares.

Oscar. Oscar beat the crap out of Void, but was robbed. Void is void. Void is still running from Pac, Void is a cheat!

would these same people rank Judah (Tzyu, Mayweather, Cotto, Clottey, Spinks) highly and put him in the HOF because he fought these guys?

Its Floyd if you look at who they beat. Its Oscar if you look at who they fought. Has Oscar even beat a top 10 P4P fighter in his prime?
