yes, its absolutely ridiculous to think a multi weight p4p no1 who basically won 49 fights in a row including wins over atgs and p4p's could even possibly compared to dlhs resume

DLH, may have lost more in his or near to his prime but fought the more impressive competition

 

Oscar fought better opponents overall probably but he lost to most of them, I don't give him too much credit for beating a past prime JCC at a weight Chavez was never his best at. Ditto with Whittaker and Camacho (at least in the past prime category), I think Ike Quartey was one of his better wins, and also give him some credit for beating Vargas and Gatti in convincing fashion. But then you look at the losses to Tito, X2 to Shane Mosley, Hopkins, Manny, Mayweather. So I give the nod to Roy because while Oscar may have fought overall better fighters Roy beat better fighters than Oscar did.

 

Fair enough, but I can see both sides of the coin with this one.

I think Jones gets a disservice on the Ruiz win. Regardless of how poor Ruiz was or is, it's still a remarkable acheivement.

Oscar has Hollywood names littered within his CV. Some good wins in there too (I agree not up to the level of Jones' top wins), notably Vargas, Quartey (despite what the critics say) and JCC.

I'm not going to dwell on the shoulda, coulda, woulda with Sweet Pea as it makes no sense.

I genuinely cant pick 'em.

 

I think that on the surface Oscar's look better, but Roy beat most of these fighters in their primes (or close to). Oscars victories over big-name fighters came near the end of their careers and while Oscar was reaching his prime (vargas is an exception)

Roy Jones Jr. The losses are a big part of the resume too. RJJ had no losses in his prime. That said though, RJJ only wins this comparison by a hair because DLH's resume is still top notch.

 

But he lost to the last 2... Roy beat them

 

De La Hoya. Forget the win/loss ratio. He fought better fighters overall imo
