Better Resume: OSCAR DE LA HOYA or ROY JONES Jr?

I think that some of DLH losses are accomplishments too. Its not if you lose, its how you lose. He lost very close fights against Trinidad and Mosley II. IMO he won those fights. He fought them both in their prime. He did not lose convincingly in the Trinidad fight and the second fight against Mosley. DLH has fought more future or current hall of famers.

 

Oscar.... part of the knock against Jones is that he fought in a rather weak era and therefore didn't get to prove himself against a great crop of opposition.

De la Hoya's knock on the other hand is that he fought a whole **** load of great opposition but didn't always get the W.

De La Hoya wins here folks.

 

this question seems to be so close to call that it seems to be boiling down to "who's career do you respect more." ie, in the end - who do you like more.

What do you mean FORGET the win/loss ratio?

The resume is mostly who you beat. I can find journeymen with a whos who of competition. That is what it is, competition.

Jones' top wins are better. Hopkins and Toney compared to who? Green and weight drained maybe, but Jones won easily. What are we comparing those two wins against? Even Griffin is a great win too.

Oscar's 3 best don't stack up.

 

Anytime John Ruiz is listed as a big fight on your resume your resume is garbage.

Better resume = DLH

Better boxer = RJJ

 

Jones's best wins are better, but overall Oscar has the stronger resume.

 

Oscar has fought better fighters then Jones did on the whole, but Oscar didnt win vs many of them..

If you say who fought the better fighters that would be Oscar, but Jones clearly has the better resume..Not to mention that in his Prime Jones was untouchable...Not one close dec:good
