Better Resume: OSCAR DE LA HOYA or ROY JONES Jr?

I go with Oscar,i like Jones but he didnt fight top guys like Maske or Dariuz when he should have they were fights i think he would have won but they are just 2 of a fairly long list id have like to seen him go in with.Oscar fought everyone and although he didn`t always win the fights they were always close and debateable(hopkins aside)the Jones resume has a lot in common with that of Joe Calzaghe,the only differance being that Jones would probably won the fights he seemed intent on avoiding.

 

Oscar fought the better guys, but if Roy was willing to fight them he would have beaten them. Roy would have never lost to Tito or Shane in his prime like Oscar did had he been at thier weight, and Roy head to head and the same weight as Oscar outpoints him with no trouble. Roy had one of the fastest hands in boxing history. I hate to say it since I do not like Roy much. I just think Roy could have fought better guys in his prime.

 

why not included the clear losses of these two...
the losses are also a part of a fighter's resume

 

Beating prime James Toney, young Bernard Hopkins, Virgil Hill, dominating the boxing scene for years and winning MW and HW belts is a reason RJJ has better resume for me

 

No he wasnt.

Wasnt even ranked in the top 5. He was 8th or 9th.

 

i guess the posters here have different definition of resume...but to me, it's the fighters you beat, how you beat them...it is also important to note whether the opponent is in his prime..

i do not include losses in a fighter's resume. resume is all about the winning highlights of a career of a fighter..

So beating old and small Chavez is "resume" and beating heavyweight champion isn't?

 

i remember jones being criticized for fighting bunch of mandatories. but im gonna side for jones, for the way of his wins and how he handled his opponents.
