Really have not mentioned Mayweather to much since he retired, no point in taking boxing about a guy who no longer boxes it with these stupid threads lately it seemed logical. The big taking point is him and the money angle for new fighters and the usual talk followed I personally feel like more should follow his example. So and interesting exorcise how many current generation fighters have a better resume than Floyd just at 130? Just a refresher. G.Hernandez - ATG SFW and decade long SFW champ. Corrales - future HOFer, P4P future SFW and LW Champ C.Hernandez - future quality SFW Champ J.Chavez - future SFW & LW Champ A.Manfredy - top 10 contender. I can think of 1 or 2 guys but what fighters today have a better resume no matter the the divisions climbed then Mayweather in just one
Casamayor is the ONLY fighter Floyd UNDENIABLY ducked. They could've fought at 130 many times, Casa was calling him out every chance he had.
None because modern era promoters only want to promote 1 or 2 guys. It takes a village of champions to weed out a true champ. The new guys don't want to boost each other up by fighting like in the past. Thats why those guys had 3 and 4 way fights and all we got is Porter vs Thurman. Mix it up.
If Loma stays at 130, picks up wins against Gamboa, Walters, Salido, Vargas + Martinez, he will be GOAT at 130. I consider that greater than a couple of elite names Genaro and Corrales (in not good condition) and the others B and C grade.
Please don't make me repost the footage of Floyd calling out guys again. There is never any footage of Casamayor saying Mayweathers name but the opposite is true. **** it. you love it anyway.
It would be amazing. At 130, Gamboa is a beast. I don't see him any less of a fighter after his loss vs Crawford. He was outpointing Crawford and looked awful at 135lbs (comparatively speaking) anyway, especially given Gamboa's featherweight frame and Crawford's welterweight frame, I knew what the result would be. But damn, Gamboa vs Lomachenko, what a super fight! Who would you pick?
I don't think I posed the question right it's not about who at 130 is better it's about every fighter in the game right now, from straw to heavy how many current era fighters have a better total resume than Mayweather at just 130. I pose this because people make it seem like he was so bad for boxing and never beat anybody so who currently is greater then just green PBF at 130
That actually is the point of this thread, not GGG specifically but every fighter not just 130. Like Crawford a JWW for all his accomplishments he doesn't have a win as good as Genaro etc..
