He'd probably rank very high in virtually all p4p lists. Guys would be ducking the **** out of him, but as of yet, his name wouldn't be bigger than...say...GGG/Ward/Kovalev?

Would he be willing to fight the dangerous guys at 130-140 on HBO instead of PPV? Guys like Gamboa and Lomachenko and Crawford?

I think he beats pretty much everybody near his weight that had a prime during his career. Maybe even GGG.

    Always have.

However, the fact that he so conveniently "retired" in the face of the very best of his potential competition at his peak prime, robs me of that rock solid assurance of greatness that one gets watching SRL in the ring with Benitez and Duran and Hearns.

From actually, in-real-life, being able to Google up videos of Duran moving up and up weight classes again, not avoiding fellow ATGs nor those that would aspire to it and all the way up to SMW.

Not just talking about how they surely could probably accomplish those kinds of great things, but the money ain't right.

Imo, Floyd sold his chance at upper-tier ATGness.

Another example let's take Ward at this point despite all the P4P hype his best wins are Froch and Dawson, in all honestly Hernandez and Corrales are better wins than both or Golovkin who's top wins aren't even the caliber of lesser 130 wins like Chavez or Famouso.

Nobody rips on PBF. 99% of Mayweather hate is for his career past that point.

Idk debatable Hernandez was a decade long SFW Champ and the man at the weight Froch for as good as he was is P4P an interesting debate not to easily be written off.
Corrales as well you can cite condition but Both Froch and Diego's best came after losing to Ward and Mayweather respectively so it depends on who's highs after you consider greater.

OK well fast forward in time a bit, half these guys best win aren't even as good as Guerrero when Mayweather fought him. Like Thurman the best on his record is Struggling with Guerrero and struggling with Porter.

Corrales beat the better fighters and accomplished more than Froch.. That's not really debatable.

I can think of seven active fighters.

Pacquiao- Sasakul, Ledwaba, Barrera, Marquez, Morales, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, Bradley, Mayweather (16/20)
Donaire- Darchinyan, Rigondeaux, Narvaez, Montiel, Arce, Nishioka, Walters (6/8)
Klitschko- Povetkin, Byrd, Peter, Ibragimov, Thompson, Haye, Fury (6/7)
Bradley- Pacquiao, Marquez, Vargas, Provodnikov, Witter (5/7)
Alvarez- Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto, Lara, Khan, Trout (5/6)
Gonzalez- Viloria, Estrada, Sosa, Yaegashi, Cuadras (5/5)
Ward- Froch, Kessler, Bika, Abraham (4/4)
