I find it interesting that you seem to clearly HATE Oscar more than you actually LIKE any other boxer.
You can say the same about Toney for the period in which he did the best work of his career, 1991-1994 at mw and smw. And the resume he built up in those 3 years alone was exceptional. His wins over Nunn and McCallum are as good as any on Tito's resume - I cannot include Oscar as I thought that was a shocking robbery, I had it 8-4 or 9-3 Oscar if I remember rightly.
But Toney's lack of dedication has done some good things for him in a perverse way. What I would say is probably a super middle in his sharpest years competing with heavyweights, and not just heavies but 250lb men, 10 years past his peak...its amazing. It shows what a natural born fighter he is that could compete with anybody in any era up to 200lbs.
Excellent point. Natural ww Trinidad tried to fight at 170lbs when he was out of condition and failed (a gain of 23lbs). Toney comes in fat and competes with 250lbs guys now, and he was a natural mw/smw (160-168lbs). He may often have been out of shape, but who cares when you are confounding logic.
Toney has defo been the most boring fighter to watch of the 2.. he has had some sleeper's in his late say the "FAT" stage of his boxing run. (Middleweight Toney was elite) Overall I'd say Trinidad has been the most fun to watch. as far as history goes...? I don't really care to much.
