We all know Wladimir was a superior puncher overall. Except for the Steelhammer right hand, he had a piston jab and great left hook. But who had a better right hand in your opinion?
Wilder, and I'm not the only one who thinks so: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/mount-rushmore-of-hw-punchers.709690/
Possibly Wilder, for pure explosive power, but possibly not even in that way. Overall, in terms of better technical punch, more effective punch whenever it's thrown? That's not close. Klitschko will win that every time. It's laser-guided.
Power aside, they're in completely different realms of ability in punching. In 20 years time, I'm virtually certain that history will not be kind to Wilder's skillset or résumé and people will see past the power - had he been around for Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis, he would've been a sacrificial lamb, I'm sure.
I think that this is about right. Wilder threw the kitchen sink into his shots whereas Wlad always made sure that he retained his stance and balance. That's the difference between a decade of dominance and 5 years of hype
