Better ring IQ - Hopkins, Mayweather or Marquez?

I've never seen Hopkins as beat up as Mayweather was against Cotto.

Mayweather. The guy barely loses a round, and has never lost a fight. I don't even know why Marquez is even on this list. He looked totally confused against Mayweather.

Hopkins would make it look EASY against Guerrero. Floyd will probably take a slight ass whuppin because he'll hang against the ropes, even if he wins every round.

Sure Cotto had a good jab, but Hopkins beat Wright, with a better jab and made it look easy.

Mayweather picks and chooses who he fights. Ortiz was penetrating his defense and Ortiz is nothing but a brawler on the level of Cloud.

Hopkins goes out of his way to fight athletic, southpaws who have a height, reach, and size advantage.

Mayweather calls them out and runs like a straight *****.

 

Tempted to choose Mayweather because he figures all oponents out, but Hopkins has done more with less. Mayweather is faster and has better reflexes than all of his opponents. Hopkins doesnt always have the edge and yet manages to give them a boxing lesson. Yes his tactics are boring and dirty, but you know youre special when you give boxing lessons to young champions at the age of 50. Marquez gets too beat up in my opinion, but boy can that guy set up punches and i love his combinations.

 

Hopkins no doubt. The last time Mayweather took on a real stylistic challenge was against Castillo and he lost that fight. He has avoided every stylistic threat to him since De La Hoya - no way he's above Hopkins.

I put Marquez ahead of Mayweather also - their H2H doesn't tell us anything, Mayweather was far bigger, taller, stronger, much larger reach and is a defensive distant fighter against a guy who is not much of an offensive fighter himself...even Marquez knew he was going to lose that fight

Also on topic for me its Hopkins, Marquez and then Mayweather.

There is not that much between them but Mayweather relies FAR more on physical attributes than the other 2.

Also Mayweathers footwork especially right now is way inferior to Hopkins which considering there is a 12 year age gap is no excuse for.

Speaking just on ring IQ it's hopkins hands down. He knows every trick in the book, some dirty some clean but always finds a way. He knows how to do more with less.
