Two guys I've seen live also had the same booming effect. Razor Ruddock and Tommy Morrison. It was like a bass drop.
RJJ was a lot better than Ward, but Ward has the better technique. RJJ was only great because he was freakishly strong and fast. Ward will last longer, but Roy was better. If you consider skillset everything that isn't physical, then I guess Ward has the better "skillset" or technique.
Roy Jones at his best was nearly unbeatable. Just amazing and unique. Watching him now, I can hardly believe it's the same person. Even physically. It's like looking at Ali in 1965/1966 and looking at Ali in 1981. Not the same at all. I think he continues to severely damage his legacy. But, at his best, Roy Jones was one of the best who ever stepped in the ring. Ward, on the other hand, I'm not sold on (as far as all-time great status goes). We may have already seen him at his best. He could still end up being another Michael Nunn. So I'm going with Jones. But their careers aren't over yet.
