Both were known to come forward to their opponents while also taking their time and breaking them down. Skill wise, who was the more effective stalker? Who was the more technically sound pressure fighter and who cut the ring off better in your opinion?

Skill wise? Chavez. Chavez is basically superior no matter how you ****yze it. That is not a knock against Zarate who was also an excellent stalker.

What amazes me about Zarate is that while he punched with both hands his left hook to the body was his top gun, and nobody could stop it, except of course the guys that beat him. Alberto Davila was an excellent and smart boxer and even he succumbed to to Zarate's left hook to the body. Chavez was different in that he used both hands and was on top of you all the time.
