Anderson Silva is a champion in MMA for a reason.

Silva is one of a kind, and whooping fighters like never seen before. He also has the better hands, Jon Jones is a better striker than Cro Cop too.

In terms of striking skills for MMA..

I wish everyone were this rational. I take that back, I'm glad they're not. If everyone were this rational, this post wouldn't be nearly as refreshing.

Easy to see he's a noob here. He actually tries to have a friendly conversation where two people with differing opinions seek to trade reasoned arguments and find common ground. :rofl

I can't believe there are 15 votes for one guy, 19 for the other, and I'm the only one who votes "tough to say."

Shows the culture of the forum, I guess. On every issue, you're expected to declare yourself as either a hater or a nuthugger. :-(

So you think that by making a choice between the two, you have to be a hater/nuthugger? By making that comment, you are actually further perpetuating the culture that you appear to be opposed to.

Obviously it's tough to say, that's why there is a debate.

Anderson Silva. His natural instinct and IQ for striking in general is what sets him apart. He anticipates movements, distance, and has great awareness. not to mention very precise striking and can put together great combinations.

It's the culture of the place.

The vote is split almost exactly 50-50. Obviously it's a good question with a strong case to be made for both guys. There is an option for "tough to say", and it gets one vote out of 35. Because nuanced opinions are discouraged. Blanket statements about "x is better than y" are how this forum runs. :good

If it's "obvious" that it's "tough to say", then why has the "tough to say" option been completely ignored? :blood Because you're supposed to declare yourself either a Cro Cop guy or an Anderson guy. Decide who you like better, and vote for him. In reality, you can make a good argument for either man, and "tough to say" is certainly not anything like the extremist minority position that its 2.8% of the vote would indicate. :good

I think that some of you are forgetting how beautiful Cro Cop's striking could be when he was on. He put on his fair share of clinics where he just looked flawless.

And Silva looks just as incredible when he drops his hands to his waist and goes into Matrix Mode. :good

  12. Nah he just fights shitty strikers.

  13. That only works against low caliber fighters. Look at the top kickboxing fighters in the world and how they move, no one move like Anderson. Theres a very good reason for this, its because it doesnt work, especially against someone that isnt scared of punches and kicks with no power.

I feel sorry for all these noobs who have only seen the declined CroCop, and not the fighter he once was.

Did you even read the OP?

"In terms of striking skills for MMA" he said. Footage from K-1 is completely irrelevant.. Different sport, different rules.. Read the OP.

This is probably part of the reason why I've picked Anderson. I have only really seen highlights and GIFs of prime Cro Cop. I may not be fit to judge.
