What great strikers does he have available to him in MMA right now? Everyone he has stood up with, he has handled with ease, that of itself shows the level he is at. Came out untouched from the Belfort fight and some thought it was risky due to Belfort's fast hands. We saw how fast that one ended.
It doesnt show the level he is at. If Anderson wanted to fight the best or to challenge himself then he should fight against the best, wherever they may be. He isnt doing this though, he isnt going up in weight and not going to other parts of the world to fight other great fighters especially strikers. He is just going up the same UFC hyped fighters.
A top rated kickboxer will normally translate very well into MMA. Igor, Overeem are two such examples.
Wushu and Hollywood looks good, Matrix style, but the best fighters and best strikers arent about looking good. If Anderson faced any top level strikers in K-1 for example, his style would get exposed real quick. For Americans who hasnt seen actual top level kickboxing strikers before, because sadly America is very weak in kickboxing. This is the type of fighters Anderson would be facing, non of that Matrix stunts Anderson does. Fedor and CroCop has faced top level K-1 strikers, Anderson in his career NEVER HAS. Editing responses after the fact, bringing Kickboxing into the discussion.. I got you shaking like a leaf on a twig. It's true what they say, it takes more effort to keep telling a lie rather than face the truth.
Better striker? maybe Anderson should step up in weight division first before claiming to be the best. But I guess he is content in ducking bigger opponents, opponents that Mirko and Fedor has to contend with. In any case, Anderson by fighting solely in the UFC isnt facing tough strikers, MMA or otherwise, just some more bunch of UFC hyped up fighters. Anderson should try Japan again, but no I guess hes lost to too many of them, again Anderson is ducking.
What kind of gibberish are you spouting now? All of these guys are around the same size, in respect to their weight division, at 205 and below. Almost anyone that is anyone in mma cuts to make weight. Belfort was close to 210 lbs the night of his last fight, in which he weighed in at 185 for the day before. Chael was around 205 for his fight with Silva. GSP is around 185 on the nights he fights, and he has stated he would need to add 15 lbs of lean muscle mass to be big enough to fight at 185. The guys that fight at 205 are around 220 lbs the nights of their fights. Why do you think most heavyweights are 230 and up? They can't cut to 205.
I love this myth that Fedor was some Sakuraba-esque giant killer. The guy primarily fought guys who were either larger but not top quality or world class but around the same size. The best 'giant' he fought was Antonio Silva and we all know how that played out. As for best striker...I prefer Anderson Silva as his striking actually uses all aspects of MMA whereas Mirko tends to just used his TDD and footwook to keep the fight in a position where he can kickbox. Some of the stuff Silva can do in the clinch or off his back is awesome.
Yeah, Anderson is hiding in a division where the fighters are his size. Seriously, how are you so narrow minded? It's like me asking where Fedor was when it came to facing Wanderlei, Shogun, or Rampage. Fedor could get down to 205. What's the matter? Is he afraid he won't carry the same speed advantage against the 205ers? You're ridiculous.
