Its been argued that the 70s was the golden age for boxing. Quite recently cases have been made for the 90s as being just as good if not better. My questions is which era had the better supporting cast?

From the 70s exlcude Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton
From the 90s exclude Tysoh, Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe

    Well,

if the co-stars of the 70's were Quarry, Shavers, Lyle, Ellis, Young, and Bonavena, then I'd say that tops the 90's with Ruddock, Morrison, Mercer, Seldon, Cooper, Moorer, and Golata

By the way, I think you can pretty much ad Norton and Holmes to the supporting cast crew of the 70's. Holmes was a contender with 27 fights by 1978, while Norton was better than most of the co-stars, but not quite good enough to rank with Ali, Foreman and Frazier.

Not trying to add bias but the 90s had

    Mercer
    Morrison
    Ruddock
    Bruno
    Tua
    Moorer
    Golota
    Ibeabuchi
    Botha

    70s
Holmes (I guess you gotta add him)
    Lyle
    Shavers
    Quarry
    Young
    Ellis
    Bonevena
Bobick (never amounted to much but seemed like a threat at one point)
    Bugner
