    Please stop boxrecing.
The fact that Toney had a keep busy fight at 181 means nothing. How on earth are you going to use that as proof for the amount of weight he cut 6 months later?

"Roy beat me fair and square "- Toney

    ??????????
How on earth was he out of shape? He chased Jones for 12 whole rounds
    Pathetic

    I never said that
Because as we all know that fight took place in the late 90's when the wbo was considered worthless
No, they are not. The only person that thinks that is you. The people that count didn't consider it that way and that is what is important.
When Eubank was a mw he missed: Nunn, McCallum, Kalamby, Jackson, Toney, R.Johnson and McClellan. In fact he moved up when McClellan became his mandatory.

When Eubank became the wbo smw champion he missed: Toney, Cordoba, Nunn, Liles and later on Jones

Most of his title defences were against guys he chose himself like: Close, Schommer, Costa and Story. The wbo allowed him to get away with it because they were desperate for a 'big name' fighter to hold one of their belts.

Hearns picking a a smw belt didn't mean much. Back in the 60's you had to put on 14 lbs to fight in another division. Now all you have to do is put on 4-8 lbs depending on the division you are moving to. Back in the 60's there was one champion per division which mean't you had to fight the man in each division, now with 4 belts you can move up and pick the weakest belt holder in each division.

The writer was right that Jones never ducked Calzaghe the problem was that he tried to prove it the wrong way.
The Ring magazine has been around for close to 100 years. It is one of boxings most prestigous magazines. I don't consider the Ring belt a legit belt, more like an award, but the fact that networks and fighters are willing to recognise it says a lot about highly the ring is viewed.

The Rocchigani win was a good win because Rocchigani should have a win over Daruis.M, not because he defended a abc belt against sub par competition like Malinga.

Eubank never beat Benn at smw, he got a gift draw

    Let's make a few things clear;

    1. Ottke whooped both Johnson and Mitchell without controversy.
    2. The WBO was definitely not worthless in the late 90s, especially at 168lbs.
    3. There's no need for HerolGee to take offense at the word "******ed" being thrown around internet forums.
    4. Glass jaws exist in boxing.

Wake up. The WBF belt was recognised by networks once to call a fight a world title match up. Wake up its another made up belt where they have suited themselves based on opinions where they focus on fighters that they get to see

I think Rocchigiani had an arguement with Maske also.
Good that you note it was a good win when you consider that Eubank to you had a worthless belt.
Once again it shows that the fighter makes the belt.

Funny thing is you say the WBO SMW belt which had the greater match ups overall is worthless compared to the WBC which was the same age, yet when I pointed out that Haye and Wlad when fighting at HW had the WBO and IBO belts on the line, you said its because its not the 90s, but dont notice how ridiculous that comment was in that at HW the WBO belt does lack the history of the WBA, but at SMW the WBO is of a similar age to the WBC and the IBF is the oldest.
At HW the WBO doesnt have the history of big matchups and champs compared to the WBC or WBA
At SMW the WBO has a history the same age as the WBC & WBA and overall has had the better match ups and the most historic SMW champ

Calzaghe without a doubt, and that's not counting Hopkins. Plus he didn't lose. Plus I can't think of any win of his at SMW that was even controversial.

Calzaghe handily beat a better version of Kessler than Froch lost to and was dead even with. That about says it all. Maybe this changes a bit based on what Bute does in the future.

Cause it shows you it was unhealthy for him to make SMW, he'd clearly eaten his way out of the division.

No, he plodded forward, allowed Jones to tee off on him, pot shot and run, and Toney looked helpless (of course much of that was down to Roy). Anyone who thinks Toney was at his best that night, has a clear agenda. It's clear to me that you've never boxed before, because that was not 'chasing someone' :patsch

You are one of the only people I've ever to seen deny that Toney was drained and bloated going into that fight. The longer this goes on, the more you're embarrassing yourself :patsch

No it's not. That person's account is worth far more to me, than anything you come out with. They were actually present at the fight, and at the open workouts of the fighters.

Let's not forget that Dave Tiberi got robbed against prime James Toney, before Roy fought him

What's pathetic Zod, is you ducking the question that was put to you several times, then using a strawman argument to change the topic of the conversation. I see you're now being dominated by bailey as well :deal

Now Zod, do you disagree that fighters can be different at different weight classes?

So Froch losing to a fighter coming off a loss when unwell that Calzaghe had beaten when undefeated makes you think Froch is better?.
Of course forgetting that Calzaghe has a few better wins than any Froch has with Eubank, Kessler and that Lacy, Woodhall, Reid, Mitchell all had greater resumes than Bute, plus other SMW world champs Calzaghe had beaten in Brewer and Veit who has a resume of similar level to Bute and the other top 10 SMWs Calzaghe had beaten.
