I agree with this, I don't see how you can compare them, as each one has his own style.

I think it has to do how the trainer's style mesh's with his fighter's style some times, its a match made in heaven and you have a dream team. Other times, it is disastrous. Ricky Hatton and Floyd Sr. was doomed from the get go, put aside styles, just for a moment, personality wise, and ideas night and day.

A fighter and his trainer need to have that Chemistry, that trust, and faith in one another. The training goes far past physical attributes.

I think they are both great trainers respectively. Just look at what Floyd Sr, did for Jr in preparation for the Guerrero fight, Floyd was un-touchable, un-hittable. We hadn't seen him that mobile in a while.....

So you can say that Roach as more ATG and World Champions on his resume, but to be the guy that made Floyd Jr, improve, speaks alot.

Floyd Sr. is better. He taught Hatton how to sleep in 2 rounds.

gotta go with roach, his trained multiple champions over his long career, mayweather sr has trained a few greats but i honestly believe his star pupil floyd is just all natural ability and his father helps him not so much with his training per say but because they would have chemistry working together (he trained oscar in like the 2000s when oscar in my eyes was allready solidified as an all time great)

considering Marquez had another great trainer and Marquez has a great advantage stylistically over Pacquiao that's not Roachs fault,

Roach takes this one, what he did with Chavez and Khan was more than good, Chavez beat some good contenders before being beat by Martinez ( I don't think the trainer matters for that fight ) and Khan became a unified champion and has only looked worse since leaving roach. Mayweather is a respectable trainer but not in the same league as guys like Nacho, Roach and the late Steward

Roach is better at getting a fighter extremely fit, motivated and excellent sparring at the wildcard, Roach's fighters have plenty of gym wars & come prepared to fight.
Roach seems like a nice guy & seems pretty easy to get along with & take instructions/advice off.

Floyd Sr concentrates on technique, tactics and fundamentals, he has an excellent padwork routine and sets up very good gameplans for his fighters to execute. However it is up to the fighters themselves to get themselves in shape, he is not a fitness coach.
He can come accross as arrogant & has been abusive towards his fighters in the past, he is harder to live with but would make an excellent trainer for the right character.

Nice to see the internet is still infested with Pacturds who vote for Roach, based on his boy being a loser.

Answer why if he is so good Paci - OW and him can't work out a way to beat Marquez clearly?

Didn't even the scumbag Arum say in the 3rd post fight prezza " We need a 4th fight to decide which of these 2 great warriors is the best, as todays result is inconclusive " ?

    Roach great, my ass.
