Am I the only one who feels that the Israel Vasquez-Rafael Marquez trilogy was more fun to watch than the Barrera-Morales trilogy? I know that Barrera and Morales had some bad blood between them, but Vasquez and Marquez just reminded me of two warriors who were only trying to win. There was no bitterness or hatred between them and they seemed to think there way through those fights more because of it. I tend to like the thinking mans kind of fights more anyway, so maybe that's why I prefer this trilogy.

That's not a knock on Barrera or Morales, but I think those two seemed to want to take the other guy's head off more, because of the negative feelings between the two. It just wasn't as exciting as Vasquez-Marquez in my opinion for that reason. I'm also not saying that Barrera and Morales didn't use their brains in fights, but just not so much in their trilogy.

Vazquez-Marquez is better cause all the fights were great while the second Morales-Barrera fight is nothing special.

But the first Barrera-Morales fight is better than any of the Vazquez-Marquez fights.

I go with the Quez Trilogy. Skill at the highest level.

My two favourite trilogies ever - my vote goes to Izzy-Raffy though. Their fights got progressively better and every one was a classic in its own right.

Most trilogies have one fight that isn't up to the standard of the others (Ali-Frazier II, MAB-Morales II etc) but this trilogy bucked that trend in spectacular fashion. It had everything you could want - pure warfare fought at the highest skill level. In a fair world, both these guys would have made $10 million for all three fights.

I agree, the first Barrera vs Morales was incredible.

Vazquez vs. Marquez is an unbelievable trilogy, love the skill level and brutalness of all three.

Going to go watch them now.

One's the greater trilogy viewed by itself, the other had the greater impact on the sport.

  11. Corrales Castillo trilogy was BOMB.

First fight had all 6 of these fights beat... second fight had a great KO, and the third fight was so awesome it didn't even have to actually happen in real life.

I only saw Barrera-Morales 1 and will get the career sets of Barrera & Morales anyways. The Izy-Raf trilogy was great and worth a rewatch. Overall I preferred them over Barrera-Morales 1 but I'll have to see the rest of the Barrera-Morales trilogy though if I already feel that way and I saw what most consider the best fight of the MAB-EM trilogy, I doubt my opinion will change much.
