So was Ivan Robinson, does he have a legacy to? :patsch

I'm not trying to take anything away from Chico, but in the grand scheme of things he just wasn't good enough or significant enough to have a 'legacy'. Unless were are fundamentally changing the critera for such a concept.

So losing in the eyes of some, because its far from most, in fact after the fight there was a poll here that had about 18% of the people that fault Castillo won the fight, the number have of course gone higher since then as the hate of Floyd has grown. I got of the subject abit there...What Im saying is no matter if you thought Floyd won or lost the fight Castillo was a better fighter at that time then either MAB or Erik were at the time that they fought pac.

I agree that at the time Chico was being marketed as something very special. A lot of people thought he was going to have too much for Mayweather. Chico's record at the time was impressive, and he had a lot of momentum. That's why its one of the best wins, if not the best, win on FMJ's resume. Not only the quality of the opponent, but also the dominaiting nature of the win.

I'd say of those who've seen the fight, its about 50/50. With alot also predicting a draw. However the judges and the majority of ringside observers scored it for Floyd as Jim Lampley said during the rematch.

So if you are done looking talking. Post your scorecard. Because its becoming obvious that you never really seen the fight.

Never said anything about Chico or Corrales being ATG's. Just that these guys at that point of their careers were better victories then Pac's over Barrera and Morales.

AMong active fighters Floyd has one of the best resume's out there. Atleast 3 fighters that were ranked in the P4P top 10. Won 6 belts in 5 wieght classes. And beat the man at 130 and 135. Shallow? Nah.

    Now post your scorecard kid.

The term legacy denotes what you accomplished during your career. you can have great legacy or a poor one. Chico has a legacy, its not great, but its not average either. He was a good, perhaps really good fighter. He beat the best at his weight classes of the last decade and was involved in the best fight perhaps ever and won it. That qualifies as a good legacy.

What state is that??? hungry undefeated champion in the prime of his career:patsch

If your going to go that route then you can take the shine off of 80% of the wins in boxing...Example how many of you know that Taylor is a point of interest in a murder???? Its said by some that his wife hired someone to kill a women that he was said to have been having an affair with...Shane Mosley was in the middle of a split from his wife when he lost to Cotto. Roy Jones was in a battle with the mother of his twin boys when he lost to Tarver. Fighters are real people and have real world problems but they go out and win fights all the time, but when they lose people like you want to throw it up as a reason for why they lost.

All I'm saying is that we should take into account that Chico & JLC were not as good as Barrera or Morales. Those guys are grade 'a' legends, as opposed to two solid 'b' class fighters in Chico and JLC.

As for the losing to Castillo thing, again, all I'm saying is that it should be taken into account that many people, a significant number, felt that Floyd lost clearly and was lucky to get the decision.

I'm not going to buy into this bull**** that Danny_Rand is peddling, that we should just ignore that obvious issue because it somehow damages the perception of his beloved FMJ.

I agree overall, but not at the time that they fought Pac...Its like saying that Jones was a bigger win for Calzaghe then Kessler was...Kessler could hold Jones jock in his prime, but at the time that Joe fought them Kessler was a much better fighter. timing is everything in boxing:good

Morales lost to Zahir Raheem before Pac even beat him and was obviously on the downside. Zahir Raheem lost to Acelino Frietas who was TKO'd by Corrales. Barrera was a great victory and he even had some success later on his career, but beating Morales on the downslide and Rocky Juarez is not as good as what Chico and Castillo accomplished after they lost to Floyd.

what is so hard for you to understand about this. We arent saying that Castillo and Corrales have better resume's but that they were better fighters then the versions of MAB and El Terrible that Pac faced.

Sorry, even those that felt Floyd lost, felt it was a decision that could have gone either way. Most of those who have actually seen the fight however know that Floyd won the fight.

Again, post a scorecard and stop avoiding the fact that you really never have seen this fight.

If Chico couldnt make super feather then why did he beat Casa for the WBO and IBA straps just 2 years later?

Chico was far from his best on the night Mayweather beat him.

Weight issues, family issues, problems with the law...

first of all he faced jailtime right after the fight and also ended up getting a divorce. Corrales' trial was scheduled for 1 month after the Floyd fight. His wife was pregnant too. He ended up spending more than a year in jail.

As for the weight issues you can't just ignore them. He had thrown his belt in the trash to move up from 130 before he fought Floyd, he came in at 132 at the weigh in and then had to drain in a sauna for 90 minutes to make weight.

Alot of people predicted that Morales would beat Pac in the 3rd fight, now everyone is saying he was shot to **** in the 2nd? comon...

Lets be even handed. Morales and Barrera are better fighters than Corrales and CAstillo hands down. If you wanna nitpick about who was or wasn't better on the night that they were beat by Floyd and Pac, the debate can be endless.

Pac should win this poll hands down and even 25% voting Floyd is too much imo.

To top it off although Barrera, Corrales, and Morales were all knocked out, Floyd was only able to beat Castillo by decision and by only a few points.

Ssssshhhh! were ignoring the weight making issues. They don't fit into the 'JLC and Chico were basically Supermen when FMJ schooled them' philosophy of this thread.
