I'm surprised by the one sided poll result.

    I choose Calzone.

For all his flaws, Lacy was battle tested and stood in there right until the end trying to land a lucky punch. Calzone had to stay alert and vigilent for the whole duration; yet he dominated nearly every second of that fight even though he couldn't punch very hard with his brittle hands.
Lacy showed big heart in absorbing his beating and even wanted a rematch.

Froch in my eyes had an oponnent who badly under performed. Lucian wasn't battle tested, didn't get his tactics right ( he stood in the ropes trying to land a counter) , came in the ring with the wrong mindset ( be overly agressive) and apparently wasn't too upset with the defeat.

And even then, he touched Froch very hard on a few occasions, winning the first rd and having good spells in the next 2.

Of course, everybody likes a spectacular annihilation. But i see more skill, domination and merit in Joe's feit.

Joe painted a masterclass that night.

Froch exposed a naive and protected champ.

As we've established, the majority of observers didn't.

That slappy ***** couldn't even get "Cagney and" Lacy out of there.

Congratulations for Froch. He came out to put Bute away in short fashion with a champion's assault. :good Some folks are taking this way too indicatively. Like a new-born baby it just happens every day: I know it's hard to believe due to the structure of match-making in boxing today, where anything that can happen, rarely happens.

I remember that when Lacy appeared people said that he would destroy Calzaghe. And then that he had potential to go up to heavyweight and be champ.

    Froch v Bute.

I rate Calzaghe higher talent wise.
    I rate Bute over Lacy.
I think Bute will go on to have a better career (post defeat) than Lacy.
    KO5 beats UD.
Bute had a better record before the fight.
Froch was a bigger underdog. Early Froch KO was the most unlikely result.

I think Froch Bute surely. I mean if it was on points it might be different but Froch Ko5 was certainly not the result anybody expected.

Even Calzaghe fans have to be honest and say they thought Bute would handle him as they have highlighted his many flaws over and over.

Froch's was certainly the better win based on the fact that he finished his opponent. But I think Calzaghe's win was more significant. From what I remember EVERYBODY expected Lacy to win that fight. He was the definition of an ATG hypejob.

In the Ring mag I read somewhere that 12 experts picked Bute and 10 Froch, though cannot confirm this for sure. But the majority felt Lacy would go through Calzaghe.
Bute has been shown staggering around the ring in the weeks leading up to Froch and getting a long count.

I still think with Froch coming off a loss that its a pick em
