1. Yeah, there was some British hype Yarde, but everything I said about him is %100 true. Any knowledgeable when knew that Yarde was a KO waiting to happen and disappear into obscurity. But I'd love to hear your case for Yarde being top10 based on his resume, considering you think It's unfair to claim he's not top10. 2. Your assumption couldn't be more off. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Canelo, that's simply my opinion on Eleider Alvarez. I remember watching him against Chilemba, way before some people here who're trying to build him up just to shill for Canelo even heard about him.
It only shows that Canelo's people knew the situation better then us. They were aware that Kovalev was totally done and hid the fact. Tried to sell Kovalev as a legit close to prime fighter.
Nope, he was a legitimate beast for a few years. Then he sputtered across the finish line with the rematch victory over Storm and then scraping past Yarde before getting taken out to pasture.
Canelo’s fight was a mismatch going into it because this version of Kov is shot. His performance only confirmed the oddsmakers were right. Kov fought the way he did because he is faded and shot. Canelo should get credit but it’s not like this fight was ever in doubt. You guys act like Canelo was the underdog. He was an overwhelming betting favorite going into the fight. He deserves whatever credit you get when you beat a shot, former great. Kov was a huge underdog for a reason. Kov from five years ago would have been an overwhelming favorite. Do you understand how this works?
People, who promoted the fight. Why would they say that Canelo is fighting a punching bag. They need to generate some sort of interest.
so which win was the proof that this was indeed this beast? what name is so much greater than the bums he was beating this year?
Really? Chilemba, Pascal x2, Hopkins, Cleverly, Sillakh, Mohammedi, Campillo... hell, even his tertiary line of best wins like Caparello/Agnew/White/Simakov were in truth not much worse than Yarde (although obviously all well short of Eléider Álvarez)
what people? i didnt see it, so im asking you, what people? oscar? dazn? hearn? i want to see what they were saying so i can better understand this perspective.
Beating Donaire was better. Its from a tournament where Inoue didn't get to pick his opponent. As good as a win as beating kovalev was, lets not pretend that we don't know why Canelo and his team picked Kovalev.
a long list of nobodies. in 20 years, even their moms will have forgotten they once boxed. yes, im being hyperbolic, but it seems to be the game were playing.
I agree with all that. You just explained your "caveats" in the post I had quoted before this, therefore you care to some degree.
Every single statement and sentiment there applies to Nonito Donaire. Except even stronger. Do you understand how that works?
