I don`t think there`s any doubt that Muhammad Ali was a great boxer, fair enough if you feel he is a little overrated by some or that there were more complete fighters but to say he wasn`t that great of a boxer is crazy.

Then you are clearly agenda driven, funny how people always let their emotions get in the way of ranking Ali, whether its over rating him or under rating him.

Anyway as to the thread question in a p4p boxing sense Duran moving up in weight to take on a prime Leonard is a greater victory, but Ali- Frazier I has more historical signifance and was the much bigger fight, even though it wasn't as entertaining in my opinion.

Since you decided to read and understand what you want, I'll explain it to you: I said I don't think he was THAT great ("that" being the keyword).

hard to say its close...Ali had 2 fights Quarry and a 15 rounder vs Oscar B. and he got plenty of work in the gym...Frazier was never the same after this fight but on that night he beat a strong Ali convincingly

Duran had a clear win over Leonard, rounds were very competitive but Duran was in charge all the way...great win...the rematch had a touch of trickery on Dundee's part knowing Duran could never get in shape in November

Where would you rank Ali on an all time heavyweight list or alltime p4p list.

Frazier over Ali, fight of the Century and all, the world was sitting on the edge of their seat.

Leonard was a turd, but Ali was a massive lump of **** that needed to be flushed. Frazier did the job.

Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier, March 8 1971 was a very good win for Joe, who was a great fighter, but many will say that the U. S Government was a big aide to Joe as Ali was past his prime years, 1964-1967, as he was no longer the fighter who knocked out Zora Follry on March 22 1967, in round 7. Frazier's management played it very smart, as Joe had been sought for a prospective opponent in 1967. The Sugar Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran I was talked about since Duran left the lightweight division in 1979, and ventured into the welterweight division. But that fight was a good fight, a classic.
