Granted, but the commentary from Sky is far superior to HBO.

Hatton. Great win and Tszyu was great in defeat as well, great passing of the torch fight.

:patschBrittard or not...He makes a damn good point that your sorry ass couldnt refute.

The Hopkins\Calz fight was very close compared to Hatton\Tsyzu.

I love how you went left field with the corny ass name calling instead of refuting his posts...You're pathetic!

hatton was by far the superior performance, and its a performance that seems to be criminally underated on here in terms of people claiming tyszu was shot (which he wasn't) and in terms of a bias hometown refereeing performance (which is true). that was peak hatton that night energised by a rampant home crowd (we see what that did for froch v bute), tyszu actually fought a great fight himself in those circumstances and it was a great win for hatton with tyszu extremely dignified in defeat.

in contrast the calzaghe performance v hopkins was one of the worst of his 24 title fights. calzaghe was a man who loved to put a show on for the crowd, a fighter that never wanted to hold, a fighter who would have a toe to toe tare up with anyone and what calzaghe came up against in hopkins that night was a fighter who wanted the exact opposite, a fighter who didn't care if the style of the fight stunk the house out, a fighter who wanted to hold at every opportunity, a fighter who wanted to feign injury like a pappy footballer, a fighter who wanted the fight to disrupt the flow of the fight at every opportunity.

yet despite all this, it can argued that calzaghe's performance v hopkins will be remembered as the greater win and here is why

quality of opposition = equal both tyszu were ranked top 3 p4p at time of the fight

home advantage = hatton had home advantage, calzaghe won in his opponents back yard

fight weight = hatton fought at his prime weight, calzaghe moved up tp 175 for the 1st time in his entire 44 fight career

referee = hatton had a homer and won, yet hopkins had a homer and calzaghe still managed to overturn that and a 1st round knockdown to triumph.

like i say, hattons was the superior performance by far but what calzaghe had to overcome to achieve his victory means that calzaghe's victory over hopkins may be remembered as the better win.

Calzaghe showed his ass out there, Him and Hopkins are more talented than Tsyzu and Hatton imo.

Calzaghe picked himself off the deck, and danced on Hopkins throughout the night, very impressive.

I love all this talk of idiotic hometown reffing in the Hatton fight... based on low blows.

Hatton landed ONE low blow after recieving several. The ref didn't penalise Tszyu for continuously landing low blows so Hatton took matters into his own hands and landed one of his own... how is that Hatton gaining advantage??? Hatton recieved more low blows than he gave.

Also Hatton's "wrestling" as some of you put it was actually very well executed pressure fighting. Up close he wasn't grappling, he was getting in close and then finding space to get his punches off. It's called inside fighting you clowns.

They were both their best wins. Hopkins was #1 or 2 P4P and it was by far Joe's best win IMO
Tzyu was #3 P4P and is by far Hatton's best win

    Toss up really.
