I think Walcott was a much better heavyweight at age 38 than overweight Ortiz (if Ortiz really is only 38, which I doubt).

And of course Jersey Joe was linear heavyweight champion, while Ortiz has never even had one of the several modern heavyweight belts.

Walcott had height and reach advantages over Marciano, probably athleticism as well. Whereas Wilder had height, reach and athleticism over the older Ortiz. Walcott was probably the better win seeing as Marciano was at the physical disadvantages in those areas.

A bit of a loaded question, I think. Clearly Marciano over Walcott.

I've done nothing but support Wilder, but let's be real here. There's a reason Ali stole Joe's Shuffle and Sucka Punch. ****'s slick and only for the elite.

Marciano's Suzie Q is a well timed response the being dropped by Joe's Sucka Punch early. Rock was patient enough to wait, what is it like another 11 or 12 rounds, until the 13th when Joe tried it again and got clobbered by the Q. I don't think a single sequence in Wilder's fight Ortiz or career stacks up.

It's literally one of the most famous and exalted sequences to ever happen in boxing at any weight period.

    legacy wise, Walcott.

Shouldn't compare H2H this far between eras.

Lol! Rocky landing the most iconic SuzieQ on an ATG Walcott. And it’s not even close.

Plus Ortiz is older than 38. Let’s be honest here.

Man Usyk and Gassiev moving up and taking out the trash can’t happen fast enough.

Wilders name shouldn’t even be mentioned with Rocky’s.

Walcott was in another class than Ortiz.....................Ortiz is more like 50 years old, on blood pressure medicine, he is sick, but he still almost knocked Wilder out, Wilder was saved by the bell...............

    Marciano v Walcott.

Let's be brutal here, it was a good fight and very good win for Wilder, but.....the truth is Ortiz was as "proven" or "unproven" as Wilder himself. Ortiz had 2 good names on his record in Jennings and a 71yo Thompson.

I agree that it was a good win for Wilder. His best yet.

However, he went life and death to get it.

Frankly I think a prime Tony Thompson probably cleans up Wilder and Ortiz.
