Mayweather given the circumstances and the domination of Corrales.

Mayweather’s win imo. Wasn’t Corralles like Ring Mag P4P No.5 at the time? I was only 6 when that fight happened but having gone back and seen Corralles and that fight, he completely dominated him

I think he was 3 or 4. Tito and Roy were definitely ahead.

Linares - for me. Simply a better boxer. Floyd exposed Corralles all night with his hook. Floyd’s most impressive win. So if we’re going by who looked better I would say Floyd. But I think Linares is more sound boxer. Plus corrales had all sorts of out of the ring issues at that time with his girlfriend. If I remember correctly he ended up doing a year in prison immediately after the fight? That sort of thing weighs on fighters mind. I doubt he was mentally sharp for that fight where I feel Linares wanted to prove something last night and came in very mentally sharp.
    Interesting comparison though.

Anybody claiming Linares is a better win than the undefeated Corrales that Floyd beat down, needs to remove Loma's beef from their mouth, because you are pretty much fellating Loma right now.

Linares is a class below 130 pound Corrales. Corrales only lost to top fighters in his prime, and beat everyone he fought at 130-135 except Floyd. Corrales beat guys like Castillo, Freitas, and Casamayor who are better than any Linares scalps. I don't think Linares has beaten anyone better than Robert Garcia. Regarding Chico's mental state, he had destroyed Manfredy with the same charges over his head.

Linares is an exceptional technician with poor punch resistance (stopped repeatedly by less than great opponents, unavenged). The fight was competitive because Lomachenko's power isn't very good and he made himself available to be hit. The only thing he has going for him is that he was jumping weight wheras Floyd wasn't.

I’ll say you make fair points on the scalps difference I wouldn’t contend that point. For me, Linares is a better technician than Corrales ever was, and being that Lomachenko isn’t a big puncher at 135 he basically faced a larger man and beat him at his own game.
I don’t buy the Manfredy argument, the prison sentence was lurking right around the time of the Floyd fight. When you are facing an extended stay in jail I seriously doubt you can give all your mental energy to a sport that demands it. Linares looked sharp last night. Corrales didn’t look sharp - partly because of Floyd yes but I think the issues outside the ring prevented the best Chico from entering the ring that night. He may also have been drained making that weight I forget.
If People want to pick Corrales that’s fine with me, to me it’s rather close and I always liked Chico as well and Floyd really shined that night. But at same time I was really impressed with Linares last night. Thought it was his best performance even though he lost.

Floyd much superior all day long. Correles would have beat both Loma and Linares.

    Its a good question.

Its not always whats a better win as to what an individual finds more impressive.
With all considered I think Lomachenkos win over Linares is a more impressive win.

I favoured Floyd to beat Corrales but wasnt sure with Lomachenko/Linares due to the size and weight.

With floyd and Corrales they were both SFWs that had started around that weight and proven. corrales I recall was supposedly having weight issues and not a good run up to that fight.
They were both undefeated which adds a bit of excitement to a match up

With Lomachenko he was fighting at a new weight against a decent champ who had not so long ago unified.
I wasnt sure if Lomachenko could compete so well with such a much bigger opponent.

Both put in great performances but with all considered I was more impressed with Lomachenko scoring the win than Mayweather but take nothing away from Floyds win which at the time was also very good

Linares threw better long range punches against Loma than Diego did vs Floyd and would of fought better than Diego did vs Floyd, Linares studied Loma Diego didn`t study Floyd and got exposed.

Linares is a bigger and faster puncher than Diego was.

I’m pretty sure Chico would beat the hell out of Linares and 135 isn’t his best weight.

I’m not sure the Chico that fought Floyd would have beaten the Linares of last night. One guy looked drained and mentally distracted the other guy came supremely focused. i’ll Agree to disagree on that one.
