Here's what matters : Linares was a much more difficult fight for VL than Horn was for Bud. Just look at the reach advantage Linares had vs VL compared to the reach disadvantage Horn had vs Bud.

That right there tells you all you need to know about how much harder of a fight that was for VL. I've seen the argument made that VL looked more beatable vs Linares (getting knocked down / having more close rounds) than Bud did vs Horn, but that's not a 1:1 comparison.

Bud has a longer reach than VL so when you are comparing P4P you have to take that into account. It's easier for Bud to control distance and land punches from range than for VL due to Bud having such long arms. Where Bud has those physical advantages vs his opponents, VL has more advanced footwork and balance than Bud.

It's just not as simple as just saying "well VL struggled vs Linares, got knocked down, whereas Bud didn't struggle that much vs Horn so Bud should be higher P4P".

Linares was a tougher fight based upon VL's reach disadvantage and the experience Linares had vs Bud who had a reach advantage vs Horn and Horn didn't have the kind of experience Linares had.

If Linares moved up and actually fought Horn at 147, I think you'd have to favor Horn but I think it would still be competitive and Linares would have a shot. But when you look at it in terms of P4P I think Linares is better P4P and is a better fighter when you average out the weight.

Hmmm didn't think about it that way, I agree the Linares win looks better but I didn't take into consideration the physical aspect of it. But even with that being said Horn is a big welterweight and Crawford managed to bully him around.

Crawford is still naturally bigger than horn weight wise. He walks around at 177lbs.

i reward and penalize accordingly because fighters dont all fight the same guys. if loma had dominated linares before ko'ing him, then nothing crawford could have done against horn would put him above lomas linares win. would this be unfair to crawford? maybe, but i can only go by who they actually fight and what they do with them, like im doing now.

I did say the ref was overly protective of Crawford. That doesn't mean I believe that if the ref had been more fair, Horn would have went on to win. Silly boy

It made for an easier night for Crawford, because he could get away with what he wanted, while Horn was held to the standards and rules of boxing.

He would have had a tougher fight if Horn was allowed to do what Crawford was allowed to get away with.

I wish I had the video of the full fight at hand so I could show you evidence of the blatant bias in Crawford's favor. The only thing that shocked me was that the ref didn't immediately turn round to hug Terrance after he waved the fight off and say to him ''We did it ......we got him''.

Linares was the better opponent and I think it's a better win considering he was legitimate reigning lightweight champ, but Crawford's performance was so dynamic and virtually flawless. It's close.

Poor little Jeffrey. Crawdaddy could have shown some mercy but it just ain't in him so the beat down was in order.

Lomachenko was a bigger odds favorite over Linares than Crawford was for Horn.

Here’s bud:
https://www.oddsshark.com/boxing/jeff-horn-vs-terence-crawford-betting-odds

Here’s Loma:
https://www.oddsshark.com/boxing/vasyl-lomachenko-vs-jorge-linares-betting-odds

Now money wise this already tells us who was supposed to win by a landslide and who was deemed a bigger threat. One guy got his shoulder hurt and used his ass to wax the ring while the other one sidedly took care of business. The guy put on his ass also lost to a beer thief but that’s for another time.

To sum it up. I don’t know who Linares beat and I only know one guy who beat him (Demarco) before the Loma fight meaning not only did people not consider Jorge to be any threat whatsoever but you clowns only started talking about this dude when he was scheduled to fight your hero.

Here are the facts. Loma being the -1400 favorite lost more rounds in that fight than Crawford has in his last 4 or 5 fights.

People weren’t willing to make Crawford as big a favorite against “club fighter” Horn as they were Lomachenko over Linares.

So that right there already answers this thread. You guys can hype Linares all you want but he’s been KO’ed by club fighters and really has no wins against any significant opponent that ranks on par with an old shot Pacquiao. Fanboys are still going to deny this but this wouldn’t be boxing forum 24 if facts were ever accepted.

There is one point as to why the odds were so stacked against Linares. Perhaps people overhype Lomachenko but that’s neither here nor there and left for speculation. As of now, Horn hasn’t lost to the caliber of opponents Linares did and has a better case for himself. You booty hurt Pacquiao tards and Loma knut riders can spin this however you want but numbers never lie.

Fanboys do.

Do me a favour.

Who on Linares record is better than Randall Bailey or Funeka.

We still can't discredit the Pacman win.

And Linares didn't even unanimously win against some of these bums lol

Clearly the Horn win was a righteous one. Robberies should never go unpunished.

Terence Crawford weighs 177lbs currently; Means he had a catastrophic advantage at 135 & 140!!

Linares by far and its not even close.
Linares has been world class for like a decade and has worked on his weakness and became a better fighter. He also looked huge compared to loma.
Horn is a failed olympian who works as a teacher and lucked out against an aging manny. His style is terrible and he hasnt beaten anyone of note.
They looked the same size to me too
