MAB was ranked p4p #3 (2002) and Corrales was ranked p4p #5 (2000).... so MAB there.

You caught me...the thing is, Marco's rating was inflated by the Hamed win and Hamed really wasn't in top form there. Mayweather also landed at pfp number 5 after beating Corrales and Pac landed at 6 after beating Marco.

Both great performances and big wins but MAB stands the test of time so in retrospect Pac's win was greater.

in paper, yes barrera was better but unfortunetly barrera was not 100% for this fight. something about a metal plate in his head.

corrales was undeafeated and highly regarded at that moment

people we have to judge it for what it was in 2001/03... people keep saying hes an atg, but fail to realize that in 2001 he was not , and not even in 2003 neither.

    Corrales 2001>MAB 2001/03...

MAB. Even tho MAB was slightly past his prime by 2003, he was still considered the best featherweight in the world, plus it was Pacquiao's 1rst fight moving up to 126. And I gotta say around 98-2001 was when MAB and Morales were at their best, Erik whipping Floyd in sparring and MAB got the better of Corrales. That says alot and for me the Mini Fab 4 of Morales, Pacquiao, Marquez, and MAB were a step above Floyd, Castillo, Corrales, and Casamayor, and the latter 4 were great fighters themselves, no disrespect, but that's what I think.

    What are you talking about?

Is Roy's Hopkins win meaningless because Hopkins was irrelevant and not an ATG in 1993? **** no it isn't.

Some times wins are better/ not as good as they appear at the time. (Not that the Barrera win wasn't huge in 2003 anyway)

How was he not an ATG in 2003? He was in his prime coming off wins against Morales and Hamed ffs- and you all moaning about rankings- he was ranked higher at the time as well.

I'm sorry everyone disagrees with you, but MAB is the better win.

i can care less, pac fans run the forums with their biasness.. People are always going to say that roy beat hopkins but a relatively less experianced hopkins in 93... people are going to point to their 2008 fight 9-10 times sorry... roy did not beat the better ATG version of hopkins...He lost that one.. and You can only be a future ATG when youre an active fighter,ATG is based off what you have done once you retire.

MAB had better skills, better boxing IQ and was ranked higher.

I always thought Corrales was severely overrated. He had a size advantage over nearly everyone and he didn't fight smart. Always stayed in midrange, gave up his height and reach, where people can take advantage of him.

When he lost his size advantage, Clottey whipped his ass. MAB was the much better and smarter fighter than Corrales.
